Der ASUS DRW-08D6MT ist ein interner DVD-Brenner im Half-Height-Format, der sich besonders für kompakte Desktop-Systeme eignet. Durch seine um rund 30 Millimeter geringere Tiefe im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen 5,25-Zoll-DVD-Laufwerken verbessert er den Luftstrom im Gehäuse und schafft zusätzlichen Platz für Lüfter oder Radiatoren.

Dank der schlanken Bauform bietet der DRW-08D6MT mehr Freiraum für oben montierte 120- oder 140-Millimeter-Lüfter sowie für größere AIO-Kühllösungen. Damit ist er ideal für moderne DIY-PCs, bei denen Kühlung und Kompatibilität im Vordergrund stehen.

Das Laufwerk unterstützt eine Vielzahl von CD- und DVD-Formaten und eignet sich sowohl zum Lesen als auch zum Schreiben von Daten, Musik oder Videos. Verschiedene Aufnahmemodi ermöglichen flexible Brennvorgänge für unterschiedliche Anwendungsfälle.

Der Anschluss erfolgt über die SATA-Schnittstelle. Im Lieferumfang ist ein SATA-Kabel enthalten sowie ein Slimline-Stromkabel, das den einfachen Anschluss an gängige Netzteile ermöglicht.
