For example, we find a harbor master who rewards players with settlements at harbor locations with points. Or a friendly highwayman who, à la Robin Hood, only robs the rich. For those who are less lucky, there is the 'Events on Catan' variant, in which the dice are replaced by a balanced pack of cards.

At the request of players all over the world, there is also a variant where you can play the basic game with two players. However, the bulk of the manual consists of describing five completely new scenarios, sorted by difficulty. From the simple 'Fishermen of Catan', via 'The Trek' to the final scenario 'Merchants & Barbarians', which in terms of level is not inferior to the spicy 'Cities & Knights'.
