Herkunft / Verbreitung: Ecuador.
Standort / Habitat:
Epiphytisch in feuchten Wäldern Ecuadors in Höhenlagen von etwa 700–800 m über dem Meeresspiegel. Die Art wächst in warmen bis intermediären Klimazonen mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit, gleichmäßiger Feuchte und guter Luftbewegung.
Beschreibung & Anmerkungen:
Lepanthes volador ist eine kleine bis sehr kleine, horstig wachsende Art mit schlanken Ramicaulen, die von mehreren lepanthiformen Scheiden umgeben sind. Jedes Trieb trägt ein einzelnes, elliptisches Blatt. Die feinen Infloreszenzen erscheinen über dem Blatt und produzieren nacheinander mehrere winzige Blüten.
Die Art bevorzugt konstant hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit, niemals vollständig austrocknendes Substrat und eine gute Luftzirkulation. Ideal ist die Kultur aufgebunden oder in sehr luftdurchlässigem, feinem Substrat. Temperaturen sollten warm bis intermediär gehalten werden; ausgeprägte Trockenperioden sind zu vermeiden.

Alone or with another dog!
