Aufgenommen durch die Linsen von 22 Black (or) People of Colour (BPoC) aus aller Welt wird die stereotypisierte Verschränkung von Schwarzer Identität und Maskulinität dekonstruiert und mit einer neuen Wertehaltung aufgeladen. Eingebettet in eine lange Geschichte der Sklaverei, des Rassismus und der Unterdrückung wird Schwarze Männlichkeit bis zum heutigen Tage oft subtil als aggressiv, hypersexuell und gewalttätig dargestellt. Diese gängigen Repräsentationsmechanismen der visuellen Kultur werden in diesem Band nicht nur durch sorgfältig editiertes Bildmaterial der Kunstschaffenden aufgebrochen, sondern auch durch eine textliche Ebene ergänzt und sichtbar gemacht. Seit den Anfängen der Fotografiegeschichte bleiben BPoC-Fotograf*innen auf allen möglichen Ebenen der Kunstproduktion unterrepräsentiert. JOSHUA AMISSAH (*1995, Schweiz) studierte Fine Arts, Fotografie und Design an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Amissah arbeitet als Designer, (Photo)-Editor, Kunstvermittler und Kurator an der Schnittstelle zwischen Bild und Wort. Von 2019 – 2022 wirkte er als Co-Kurator der photoSCHWEIZ und war in diesem Rahmen 2020 Hauptkurator der Black Art Matters Ausstellung. Er lebt und arbeitet zwischen Berlin und Zürich.

Comfortable shoes that still look presentable

I wanted a pair of shoes that were more presentable than regular sneakers but did not feel like stiff dress shoes, and these fit that role well. They have the look of a casual oxford, but the mesh upper makes them feel much lighter and easier to wear. That makes them useful for days when I want to look a little more put-together without sacrificing comfort. They are breathable, easy to walk around in, and work well with casual outfits. The only thing I’d keep in mind is that the mesh material can take a little extra care to keep clean, but that is a reasonable tradeoff for the comfort.

Summertime Comfort
Size: 6.5, Color: Light/Brown
My husband has a small foot and the shoe was a perfect fit for him, size 6 1/2. Normally this is a difficult size to find in a shoe. He was very pleased with the color and weight of the fabric. The fabric is breathable and lightweight. The shoes are very well constructed with a nice solid heel and sole. They are a perfect summertime shoe. The shoes will go well with shorts or casual trousers.

Great Budget Earbuds That Have Held Up Well
Style: Standard, Color: Black
I originally bought these earbuds because they were on sale and listed as an Amazon’s Choice product, and they’ve turned out to be a really good value. I’ve had them for about a year now, and they’ve held up without any issues.
They connect to Bluetooth quickly and easily, the LED battery display on the front of the charging case is a nice feature, and the sound quality is surprisingly good for an inexpensive set of earbuds. Battery life has also been solid for everyday use.
The microphone works fine for phone calls in quieter environments, although it doesn’t do much to block out wind noise if you’re outside. Still, for the price, these are impressive headphones and a great budget-friendly option. Overall, I’m very happy with them.
