Basiswissen zur Schlüsselkompetenz 'mathematical literacy' Durch die internationalen Vergleichstests wie TIMSS und PISA und die Einführung nationaler Bildungsstandards in den deutschsprachigen Ländern haben sich die Anforderungen und Erwartungen an den Mathematikunterricht und damit auch an die Fachdidaktik Mathematik geändert. Mathematische Grundbildung ("mathematical literacy") wird als maßgebliche Voraussetzung angesehen, um angemessen am gesellschaftlichen Leben partizipieren zu können. Den neuen Anforderungen möchte der vorliegende Band Rechnung tragen, indem die traditionellen Themen der Mathematikdidaktik vor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen fachdidaktischen und bildungspolitischen Entwicklungen zu Bildungsstandards und Kompetenzmodellen überdacht und - wo nötig - neu ausgerichtet oder mit neuem Akzent versehen werden.
