Several new scenarios for Catan. This expansion set can only be combined with the latest edition of the base game (the 2012 edition with the plastic parts). The scenarios in this new edition differ from those in the original version. With new playing pieces and artwork for even more gaming experience!

The manual contains a variety of scenarios in which building shipping routes to different islands plays a major role. Ships cost 1 wood and 1 wool each, and the rules for them are a lot like building streets. In most scenarios, players receive bonus points for building settlements on other islands, making them highly motivated to form shipping routes.

Scenarios vary from fixed playing fields to voyages of discovery where the players only find out where the various islands are during the game. Furthermore, the riverbed is introduced, where gold can be found. Players with a settlement on this tile receive a resource card of their choice.

The rules are virtually the same as those of the basic game with additional rules for ship routes, victory point tokens, gold tiles and the pirate.

The Mariners of Catan gives the basic game a completely new dimension and offers infinite variety. A must for players looking for a new challenge on Catan!

As a practicioner that looks for better ways to formulate the objectives of SecOps Use Cases I have found the methods presented in this book to be immensely helpful. I have also given copies aways as a gifts to students who are just entering the field as this is by far the best intro to the long history of Cyber Security that combines the best direction for the future. The historical context that the author brings through first hand experience is beyond a treasure trove. It has been said many times in cheezy ads, but honestly, if you only read one book on Cyber Security make it this one.
