MYT’s title is as succinct and straightforward as many of its tracks, and also says alot about Moses Yoofee Trio. Writing and performing has always been their priority,and its 13 tracks display a remarkable determination to distil their work to itsessence, allowing their prodigious talents and graceful versatility to flourish inuncluttered surroundings. Their goals, they state concisely, are “emotions, momentsand bangers”, and careful attention was paid to arrangements to ensure nothingsuperfluous made the cut. “With Ocean,” they point out, “most tunes were writtenand arranged on the spot. This time we took the opportunity to write more parts foreach tune and let melodies rule the music more.”
