Das Brettspiel "Europareise" von Ravensburger aus dem Jahr 2007 ist ein spannendes Gesellschaftsspiel für die ganze Familie, bei dem die Spieler eine Reise quer durch Europa unternehmen. Ziel des Spiels ist es, möglichst viele Städte in sechs verschiedenen Farbregionen zu besuchen und die eigenen Reiseziele zu erfüllen. Dabei kommen unterschiedliche Transportmittel zum Einsatz: Auto, Schiff, Zug und Flugzeug.

Im Gegensatz zu früheren Versionen verzichtet die 2007er Ausgabe auf den Einsatz von Würfeln und basiert stattdessen auf einem Ticket-System. Die Spieler ziehen und spielen Reisetickets aus, mit denen sie ihre Bewegungen planen und ausführen. Zwei Tickets desselben Typs können als Joker für beliebige Fortbewegungsmittel eingesetzt werden. Die Reichweite bei Schiffen und Flugzeugen wird durch spezielle Hilfsmittel wie eine Schiffskette oder einen Flugstab ermittelt.

Ein Zug besteht aus drei Aktionen: Tickets ausspielen und sich bewegen, neue Tickets ziehen sowie (optional) öffentliche Reiseziele aufdecken. Das Spiel endet, sobald ein Spieler eine bestimmte Anzahl an Städten in allen Farben besucht hat. Derjenige mit den meisten besuchten Städten gewinnt, bei Gleichstand entscheidet die Anzahl der Tickets.

"Europareise" verbindet Glückselemente durch das Ziehen der Tickets mit taktischer Planung beim Einsatz der verschiedenen Verkehrsmittel. Das Spielmaterial umfasst unter anderem einen doppelseitig bedruckten Spielplan, zahlreiche Städtekarten und spezielle Hilfsmittel für den Schiff- und Flugverkehr. Dieses Brett- und Gesellschaftsspiel eignet sich ideal für den Spieleabend mit Familie und Freunden.

I really really wanted to enjoy this book and was looking forward to reading it. However there were just one too many convoluted plot points, sentences just did not flow nicely at times, and I was left with a lot of confusion on my end. I think it has the bones of being a great story but seems like it was rushed and I had to push myself to finish the last of the book and was left with an unsatisfying ending. It’s definitely different from other omegaverse novels I’ve read but not for good reasons. I really think it could be great but needs some serious tweaking and editing before I’d read it again.
