Sequoia Groves zehn Hektar großes Estate und das 20 Hektar große Tonella Ranch Weingut befinden sich im Herzen von Rutherford, einer der besten Subregionen des Napa Valley für opulente Rotweine und erlesene Weißweine. Dank des warmen Klimas und der langen sonnigen Sommertage, die durch Morgennebel gemildert werden, bringen die Weinberge von Sequoia Grove köstlich reife Trauben mit reichlich ausgleichender Frische hervor. Die Trauben werden von Hand gelesen, sorgfältig sortiert und dann in Eichenfässern vergoren. Um dem jungen Wein zusätzliche Komplexität und Körper zu verleihen, wird er anschließend acht Monate lang unter regelmäßiger Batonnage auf der Hefe gereift. Das Ergebnis ist ein preisgekrönter Chardonnay mit würzigen Aromen von Zitrone, Limette und Birne sowie gerösteten Mandeln. Der erste Schluck enthüllt eine knackige Frische, einen vollen Körper und belebende Steinobstaromen, gewürzt mit Noten von Brioche, Muskatnuss und Vanille. I haven’t decided if I really like Matcha, as I got this, just to find that out. I find that the packaging is interesting, and it is best, probably, to store it in the package it comes in. It has a mild flavor, and I am just making tea with it, as I don’t bake any more. It is a bright green powder with a smooth, mild taste, and in a clever package.
