Many of our neighbourhood schools have seen most or all of their arts funding cut in recent years. Whitechapel Gallery is located in Tower Hamlets – a borough which has experienced the largest population growth in the UK and the local authority with the highest levels of child poverty and overcrowding in London. Many of our neighbourhood schools have seen most or all of their arts funding cut in recent years. Our free artist-led workshops offer local primary and secondary school children the opportunity to view, discuss, debate and create artwork inspired by the exhibitions on show. We also support local art teachers across Tower Hamlets and Newham through resources, workshops and regular networking events so they can develop their practices and share insights with their students.
Each £500 donation will enable us to deliver one workshop for up to 30
local school children.
