The grab bars are each made from type-304 stainless steel tubing that is 1-1/2 inches in diameter and features a satin finish to make fingerprints less visible on its surface. To cover over the hardware and make vandalism less likely, 22-gauge snap-on mounting flange covers are included in the design. When installed to an exact clearance of 1-1/2 inches from the mounting surface, the grab bars can each bear up to 900 pounds of weight. The maximum weight limit for any other amount of clearance is 250 pounds.
