Lack of imperial control coupled with Spain's desperation for settlers and soldiers in frontier areas facilitated the social mobility of Afro-descendants. This need allowed African descendants to become not just members of borderland societies but leaders of it as well. They were essential actors in helping to shape the limits of the Spanish empire. Africans and Afro-descendants built, opposed, and shaped Spanish hegemony in the borderlands, taking on roles that would have been impossible or difficult in colonial centers due to the socio-racial hierarchy of imperial policies and practices.Shipping Notes

Nice color, lightweight, but runs small

Nice cookie and can be work tucked or untucked. The material isn’t best quality but it’s about as expected for a shirt this price range. The size runs small so buy a size up from what you normally do. Expect some shrinkage is well. Otherwise it’s a nice shirt!

I like the design and color of the shirt. It runs small, I went up a whole size and the shoulder width is still a little tight. The fabric is also has small fibers all over it.

A large fits very well and I wear a 16.5" neck and a 34" sleeve. No shrinkage after many washings.

This is my favorite shirt. It is very comfortable and great looking. I purchased the brown Gingham. I like wearing a black T-shirt under it. I wear a large and purchased a large. It is not too tight. With a dress shirt, I wear a 16.5 neck 34" sleeves. It will fit you if you wear a 35" sleeve, I believe. It is machine washable. I have washed it many time with no noticeable shrinkage. It has a shirt or pen pocket.
