No more drilling needed! The GG Modifier is a glue-on accessory that secures your GriGri in the held-upright position, designed specifically for Lead Rope Solo climbing. By adding a secondary attachment point with a breaking strength of 40-60 kg, this modification offers an ideal angle for solo climbing with a GriGri.

This accessory allows you to use your GriGri for Lead Rope Solo (LRS) climbing without altering the device permanently. It’s also removable, so you can return your GriGri to its original state anytime.

Important: Petzl officially prohibits using the GriGri and NEOX for Lead Rope Solo [here]. Attempting to use these devices for LRS can be dangerous. The GG Modifier does not enhance their safety for solo climbing. Proper training is crucial—learn LRS from experienced professionals, always use a backup, and never rely on a single device for your safety.

Compatibility and Specifications
One model shape (curved) is compatible with Petzl Grigri Plus, Grigri (2019), Grigri 2, and NEOX. The other model shape (flat) is compatible with the Grigri 1.

- Weight: Only 6.6 grams, making it both strong and easy to carry.
- Cord Strength: Breaks at 40-60 kg.
- Modifier MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength): 100 kg.
Rigorous Testing:
- Temperature Range: Tested for durability in temperatures from -20°C (-4°F) to 40°C (105°F).
- Heat Endurance: Withstood 2 hours at 85°C (185°F) to simulate extreme heat, such as in a hot car, with no damage (although we recommend not leaving gear in such conditions).
- UV Resistance: PETG construction provides strong resistance to UV, ensuring years of consistent performance.

Aquaseal+FD Adhesive Instructions
Aquaseal+FD is a moisture-curing adhesive. For optimal results when using it with the GG Modifier, allow a 24-hour curing time.
To keep the unused portion from hardening in the tube, follow these steps:
- Eliminate Air Pockets: Squeeze Aquaseal to the tube opening to remove any air pockets.
- Seal the Threads: Apply a small amount of Vaseline on the threads before screwing on the cap. This creates an additional barrier against moisture.
- Store Properly: Place the sealed tube in a zip-lock bag and store it in the freezer.
When You’re Ready to Reuse Aquaseal: Simply let the tube warm to room temperature, or submerge it (still in the zip-lock bag) in warm water. It’s now ready for easy application!
