What is L-Arginine?

NOW L-Arginine comes in extra strength 1,000 mg tablets and is non-GMO. Arginine is a conditionally essential basic amino acid involved primarily in urea metabolism and excretion, as well as in DNA synthesis and protein production.* It is an important precursor of nitric oxide (NO) and thus plays a role in the dilation of blood vessels.* The L-Arginine used in this product is pharmaceutical grade. Natural color variation may occur in this product.

Manufacturing Testing and Assurance

Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. Made and quality tested in the USA in NOW’s Natural Products Association (NPA) A-rated, GMP-certified manufacturing facility. NOW conducts approximately 19,000 quality control tests per month in their in-house labs to ensure their products are safe and effective. In taking more positive steps on their journey to reduce the company's environmental impact, NOW is starting the transition of their supplement bottles to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin in 2023. Replacing the NOW standard PET bottles with PCR resin allows the company to re-use recycled packaging materials and lighten NOW's footprint on the earth.

Suggested Usage

Take one tablet with 8 oz. of water or juice. Not for pregnant or nursing women. Consult physician if taking medication (especially antihypertensives, anticoagulants, and antidiabetic drugs), have a medical condition (especially asthma or renal disease) or are planning to have surgery. This product should be avoided by persons with glaucoma or herpes simplex unless otherwise prescribed by a physician. Do not use if you have had a myocardial infarction or have established coronary artery disease. Natural color variation may occur in this product.
