Absolutely INCREDIBLE vintage corset top by Jean Paul Gaultier, from the Spring/Summer 1985 collection, shown here documented on the runway in grey. This is one of the earliest versions of the conic corsets and bras that Gaultier would become famous for, most notably Madonna's from the Blond Ambition Tour in 1990. One of the earliest documented is 1983. This fantastic piece takes it's inspiration from bras,corsets, and lingerie of the 1950s and prior - but this piece is special. Not only is it an amazing color, the beautiful fabric and style of the piece make it ultra-wearable in a variety of ways. Circular stitched semi-soft pointed breast cups, wired at the top - these seem to accommodate approx. a size A/B cup, although if the measurements line up and your cup size is larger, it will still look fantastic. Boning runs through the front, sides and back. Classic corset lace up at the center backside. Green zip up front for a more modern touch. Large patch pockets at each hip. Elastic gather at the back along the bra line. A truly remarkable piece that likely belongs in a museum.
