We know how important aroma is in helping us remember stories from our past, connecting us to nature, making us feel at home wherever we are, and even helping us feel connected to something bigger than ourselves.

Yet most of us wear toxic perfumes that can cause allergies and even endocrine issues...these fragrances are even masking our own ability to literally stop and smell the roses...

Our mission at Carter + Jane is to create products that never harm people, the planet or animals. We are proud of the work that we've done (and will continue to do) in skin care and from the work we've developed a deep understanding of organic essential oils. We've blended our passion for skin care, with our love of natural aromas, into our line of beautiful scent journeys! All aromas are handcrafted in the USA and are made of organic essential oils blended with organic grape seed oil.

THE PENTHOUSE STORY
"Revel in the peaceful quiet and stunning panoramic view amidst the chaos of the city. The luxurious aroma is especially enticing...the citrus zest of Japanese yuzu mixed with just a touch of pink peppercorn spice, sensual musky notes of labdanum and amyris all woven with the warmth of Madagascar vanilla....effervescent, sensual, exquisite...the penthouse. "

From our formulator...the story behind the story:
"I vividly remember my first experience visiting an upper east side penthouse in NYC. I was a young dance student visiting the city for classes, and through a friend received an invitation to a ballet patron's event in her home. When I first met her, I remember thinking that she looked and even smelled, for lack of a better word, expensive......but not in an expected perfect "socialite" kind of way...she had more like a vintage Chanel and thrift store denim chic vibe. Walking into her penthouse was a mind-blowing experience - from the crazy chaotic streets of New York to a peaceful, stunning oasis of gorgeousness. And what I remember more than anything was the aroma...I couldn't place my finger on it so I asked her what it was and where I could buy it (my small-town naïveté was out in full force). She smiled and said she worked with one of the "noses" from a major design house to customize her perfect aroma that was infused throughout her home (who knew that was even a thing lol). But she "let me in on a little secret" that the keynote that was so different was the sweet citrus from the Japanese yuzu blended with the hint of pink peppercorn spice. Fast forward decades later. I never was able to find another perfume or aroma quite like it...so I decided to recreate it...and it's truly just as exquisite now as I remember it then."

THE DIRECTIONS

Apply to pulse points anytime you need a pick-me-up. In several of our formulas, you may see sediment at the bottom of the bottle. This is normal as we only use natural ingredients; shake as needed and enjoy!

*Our roll-on aromas are made only with natural and organic oils; we do not add synthetic fragrance or alcohol to our formulas, which are typically used in traditional perfumes to assist in longevity and reduce product cost. Our aromas may not have the staying power as a traditional fragrance, but they are a beautiful, non-toxic alternative to traditional perfume, and are intended to be applied several times throughout the day for a happy pick-me-up.

parodies of a classic
Format: Paperback
In Shamela, Fielding gives us the behind-the-scenes true Hollywood version of Pamela's story (and it's tabloid worthy). In Joseph Andrews, Fielding shares the tale of Pamela's brother caught in the same sort of madcap antics she endured.

An Excellent Film
The success of this film is derived from Paul Schrader’s concept for the film and his hiring of his production designer, Eiko Ishioka, a Japanese female artist. The four chapters are presented in a simple setting with ingenious design while telling Mishima’s personal history and development into a Nobel price winning author and martyr for his political beliefs. This blu ray is a new restored 4K digital transfer of the director’s cut. As usual Criterion Collection also included a wealth of commentaries, interviews, a 1985 documentary about Mishima and a booklet. A very best blu ray package if you are interested in the person and subject matters.

Astonishing Movie
This is exactly the kind of movie that would never receive funding today and get within hailing distance of production. This movie was my 'gateway drug' into the dark and fascinating world of Yukio Mishima which is one of those things where, as the saying goes, "If you know, you know." This film is basically a collection of several short films woven together. One is the story of Mishima himself, from childhood up to the morning of his last day. The other shorts are taken from four of his novels, including my personal favorite, 'Runaway Horses'. For the biographical portions of the film, which are mostly in black-and-white, Roy Scheider's narration is excellent as well. All in all, this movie is a beautiful introduction to Yukio Mishima as well as an artistic triumph for Paul Schrader.
