- Late 19th Century San Caralampio Retablo Oil Painting on Tin created in Mexico.
- Retablo dimensions are approx. 10 inches horizontal x 14 inches vertical.
- Condition: in excellent, clean, original condition with some minor paint loss acquired over more than a century of use and devotional prayer.
- San Caralampio (St. Charalampos) was an early Christian saint and martyr from the third century AD. A bishop in the central Greek city of Magnesia, like St Denis he was accused by the Roman governor of converting too many pagans, undermining his authority and fomenting a rebellion against Rome—this during a period of religious persecution under the expansionist Emperor Septimius Severus.
- Although of advanced age—over 100 by some accounts— Caralampio was stripped of his vestments and brutally tortured. Proving indifferent to his torments, the saint was finally beheaded by order of the exasperated emperor.
- Miracles attributed to him before and after his death, included exorcism and healing the sick, especially during the plague, that led to the conversion of many to Christianity including, according to legend, his torturers and even the daughter of the emperor himself!
- Devotion to the saint became widespread in the eastern Mediterranean, especially in the Eastern Orthodox church. His cult in the Americas seems to have arisen in central America, mostly in the 19th century, in Nicaragua, Guatemala and later Chiapas in southern Mexico.

Best cheap time piece there is
Color: Gold Silver Stainless Steel/Blue Dial-2870
I’ve been a chef for years and having a great watch that keeps time as well as it looks classy is a tough ask when you’re exposing said watch to high heat over the range, extreme lows putting away vendor orders in the walk in fridge or freezer (sometimes up to an hour or 2 at a time), getting popped with hot oil and sauces, and doing dishes when our dishwasher is a no show. I do take this off to make seasoned flour for fried chicken or seafood, but it can easily be kept clean and it keeps time EXTREMELY well. I get several compliments on it from other chefs and even the guests at our restaurants both in downtown Charleston and the resort at Kiawah Island. Just don’t bang the face of the watch into a steel prep table (it will chip or scratch). But it is possible to replace the face at a local jeweler, and at any desired quality or price bracket. I own this watch in several colors and have used them for 2 years now. I’ve been very happy with OLEVS all around.

Affordable, comfortable, and practical watch
Color: Gold Silver Stainless Steel/Green Dial-2870, Color: Gold Silver Stainless Steel/Green Dial-2870
This watch is very good for its price range, of course this isn’t a Seiko, but what do you expect for under $50. I’m extremely excited about this watch and just finished removing some links for it to fit. That’s the worst part removing the links which is very difficult even with the tool that was supplied. Now, we’ll see how long the watch will last and hold up after everyday being worn. It’s a good looking and comfortable watch that’s inexpensive.

Used Watch?
Color: Black/Gray/Digital
The watch is great but the watch had been worn. The protective film was removed and it was loose in the watch box and not on the plastic holder. I bought a new watch not a used one.
