From the ranch, Johnson would hike up the canyons along the rivers, pack into the mountains, and camp in Yellowstone to explore, sketch, and paint. This piece, from one of his painting trips, is probably unfinished. Using broad, loose brush strokes, Johnson worked quickly to capture the park's beauty. Print measures 23" x 17 1 2."
