A rim lock is a clamp that secures the tire bead to the wheel rim, preventing the tire from spinning or slipping off the rim. This is particularly useful in off-road riding or when running low tyre pressures, and it can also help if you have a flat and need to continue riding without fixing it.
How it works:
- The rim lock is a metal clamp that is installed on the rim of the wheel.
- It fits between the tire and the inner tube.
- It has metal cleats on the bottom that grip the inside of the tire bead.
- When correctly installed, the rim lock holds the tire bead securely against the rim flange, preventing it from slipping
