A particularly nice Chinese Tibetan antique bronze and gilt, Buddha statue, and it’s a nice early piece, around late 19th to early 20th century but poss older, a nice piece, this one is in great condition and has an awesome patina as some gilt has been worn away and at some point some red enamel, the design on the whole Buddha is very detailed the base is styled like a book too, this also has designs around the bottom but are to feint to see in great detail, to the underside it still has its original secured base and if you shake the Buddha you can hear that there is something still inside, I’ve read that many years ago people or monks Ect used to hide things inside like small parchment scrolls or human hair and or other items, I’ve seen other Buddhas put through an ex ray and you can see the scroll inside, I’m not sure if it de -values the piece or is bad luck to open it so we have just left it original, to the underside plate is a “Yongle” mark which is Ming dynasty c1403-1424, the amazing Buddha stands 7.5 high x 6.5 wide, ready to display and enjoy
