AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: Gilbert & Gaillard
AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: 70 Million de Degustateurs
AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: International Wine Challenge

Aromas of red fruits and blackcurrant, with just a whiff of oak aging on the nose. Soft and gently mouth-filling on the palate with well integrated tannins that support the ripe red plump fruit. Unfussy with touches of cedar giving spice and a cooling freshly picked mint aspect that lifts the finish. Lovely balanced Bordeaux from a great vintage.

ChâteauBois Pertuis belongs to the Family Helfrich and is located in Saint-Christophe-de-Double.  The estate is 72 hectares and stretches over a terroir 20 km north of Saint-Emilion. The terroir is made up of gravel and sand which brings real finesse to the wines, this combined with a portion planted on clay which adds richness.

1 x Villa Blanche Syrah 2021 (France)

AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: Syrah du Monde
AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: Bettane & Desseauve

"What a glorious Syrah this 2021 vintage has produced! It is an intense purple red, with a superbly balanced nose of wild strawberries, blackberries, and laurel, followed by peppermint and fresh coconut. The tannins are supple, melting, and smooth, underpinning the fullness and length of the palate. As in previous years we find the characteristic notes of blackcurrant and blackberry with a finish on notes of cinnamon, lemon verbena and vanilla. Pure sunshine in a bottle, this Syrah nevertheless possesses a tangible freshness typical of northern terroirs. It is one of the best loved wines in our Villa Blanche range" Winemakers notes

Alc: 13% - Seal: Screw Cap

1 x Mesta Organic Tempranillo 2021 (Spain)

AWARDED 93/100 POINTS & 5 STARS: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2023

"Sweetly ripe and inviting, the wine shows dark plum, mulberry, thyme and toasted nut aromas with a hint of spicy overtone. It's equally attractive in the mouth delivering excellent fruit weight and persistency. Plump and flavoursome with a lingering velvety finish. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2023

A vibrant and juicy, unoaked red wine, showing great purity and the typical of high-altitude Tempranillo, with expressive and well-defined aromas of red berries, rosemary and a touch of liquorice. Bright ruby red colour. Organic and Vegan.

Alc: 14% - Seal: Screw Cap

1 x Elefante Tierra De Castilla Tempranillo Shiraz 2019 (Spain)

The palate offers terrific fruit intensity together with savoury nuances, leading to a lengthy succulent finish. Gorgeously styled and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2020

Deep red in colour with a ripe, expressive nose of berries, plums and smoked spice. The palate is rich and opulently fruited, packed with dark berried Shiraz fruit matched by structured, savoury Tempranillo and framed by silky tannins. Impressively complex and well balanced, this wine will gain character and complexity in the cellar for up to five years.

"Aromas and flavours of flowers and red cherries, there’s a fine savoury quality with a clay, teracotta quality then red berries and dired wood. An abundance of fine tannins adds texture supported by acidity then flavours of ripe and tart cherry with a red berry quality. Balanced and well made with best drinking from day of purchase through 2025" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Dec 2022

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
