Battle for Zendikar returns the storyline to Zendikar, a plane of adventure, many treasures, and potent mana supplies. The plane is littered with large, floating polyhedron-shaped stones called hedrons, that were created by Nahiri, the Kor Lithomancer. Together with Ugin and Sorin Markov she used them to trap the horrendous Eldrazi on the plane. Thousands of years later, the meeting of Sarkhan Vol, Chandra Nalaar and Jace Beleren in the Eye of Ugin chamber unintentionally loosened the bonds that kept the Eldrazi in torpor. The Eldrazi were finally released by the elf Nissa Revane, thinking that they would leave Zendikar far behind them. She was wrong. Two years after the initial destruction, at least Ulamog is still around.
Now, Gideon Jura takes the lead of a group of planeswalkers in facing the Eldrazi alongside the residents of Zendikar. Meanwhile, the trapped planeswalker-turned-demon Ob Nixilis is desperate for a way off of the plane. The five cards that represent the pivotal moments in the storyline are Gruesome Slaughter, Nissa's Renewal, Ugin's Insight, Outnumber and Aligned Hedron Network.

hoping for a little more

I was hoping for a little more with this book as I loved the other series in this “world,” and hoping it’ll come in the 2nd book. During this book I kept skipping pages ahead trying to move things along, just didn’t really feel like much was answered or accomplished but I’m sure that was the authors point in trying to build everything up but for me it just dragged a bit…Will absolutely read book 2 to see how it all unfolds.

Can’t Wait For The Next Book!!!

Review
This is the first book in the new series Kings Of Kilborn University by Elena Lawson and an absolutely fantastic start to the series. This follows after Boys Of Briar Hall Series and we even get to see AJ and the Crows.
This is Becca’s story after she left Thorn Valley and it’s one intense ride to say the least. Trying to avoid the gang violence she previously suffered she gets a fresh start and a chance at independence something she’s been desperate for. When she meets brothers Kaleb and Hardin things get absolutely intense. They are the Kings of Kilborn and also her new tormentors and they become absolutely obsessed with her. This is a story you have absolutely got to read. The chemistry between the three is off the charts even though Becca just wants to keep away from them she can’t deny the connection.
This book will seriously have you on edge, it’s got violence, gang war between the Saints and the O’Sullivan Sons, lots of twists and turns, and unexpected revelations at the end that will leave you needing book two asap. Am seriously looking forward to finding out what happens next for these characters. Definitely an awesome start to new series. Highly recommend this.

Excellent story line.
I have loved all in this book whisch was very smart.
My favorite gentleman here is Aodhan since the begining I fell for him.
The sex chemistry here was amazing!
The only thing I did not like was: they talk about class in the university but we never had a scene in that scenario the rest very good.

Fun, Smutty, and Just A Little Bloody

This book was exactly what I expected it to be, and I rather liked that. It was twisted and the characters are tormented, more towards the dark end of morally gray. The story eased into the spice, but I would still say that half of the story was smut and some of it was kinky. 😈
I read the series Boys of Briar Hall, so there were some secrets that I already knew and others that I could guess. My enjoyment came from reading about how the characters dealt with their secrets.
Coming into the series I knew that Becca would have an attitude and flaws and I really liked that Lawson stayed true to them. Becca’s development felt like it was earned. This wasn’t a dark novel where a billionaire sweeps in and all the FMCs worldly woes float away. She honestly had to learn to work and balance real issues and build some inner strength.
I don’t know yet if these characters will have the same sort of immortality that was prevalent in Boys of Briar Hall, so far they don’t and I’m hoping it stays that way.
Overall I can’t complain about the mechanics or grammar in the book. There were a few awkwardly stated phrases but I think it’s because they’re colloquially phrases so I let those slide.
We do get three other POVs in the story and I think that both Kaleb and Hardin were well developed. The final POV was a bit of a surprise and I still don’t know what Lawson intends for the character so I’m excited to see what happens in her next book.

Yes! This first book was everything. I have been very curious about Becca and her new love interests since I read The Crows series. This was packed full of action and the plot has me fully invested. The spice was spicin 🔥🔥🔥. The characters were fleshed out fully as well. This one left on a cliffhanger and I wanted to punch Aodhan. Although secretly my heart breaks for him 😂😭.
This follows Becca as she moved to CA and is attending Calarts. Her father cut her off, she has no money, so she has to start over by herself. She ends up running into Hardin and Kaleb who are brothers and cousins to the Saints from the crows series. Becca, while attracted to them, hates them as she blames their father for her mother's death. Meanwhile she meets another stranger named Aodhan who wants to take her on a date. Who is this mysterious Irishman? While Hardin and Kaleb are the kings and rule the LA area, a new Irish gang is trying to take their turff. Secrets are unleashed regarding Becca's past. Lives are lost. A war is breaking out. Secret identities are in the mist. Who will survive in this duet?
I always loved Becca from the other series. She has been through a lot and she's still healing from those events. You could see her growth in this first book. I love her fiery and badass self. Kaleb is a golden retriever and ray of sunshine when he's not stuck in his trauma. I love how outgoing and funny he is. His brother Hardin is the opposite. He doesn't talk. He's very angry and doesn't take crap from anyone. Aodhan is a mystery. He seems sweet and chill but also extremely broken. All of these men and Becca have heavy trauma going on. The spicy scenes between her and the brothers was so hot 🔥🔥🔥. They had insane chemistry 🥵. I'm curious how Aodhan will be added.
I loved seeing cameos from the crows and Ava! I hope we get to see more of them in the next book. I love how Sloane is such a fierce badass. The women in this series are just fantastic. Damien is a strong character and I'm excited to see how that unfolds. I also love Becca's new roommates. Onto the next book!
