15 million years ago, a meteorite entered the earth’s atmosphere and impacted around the Czech Republic. Forming a crater 24km in diameter, the impact event brought to us a unique form of tektites we now know, as Moldavite.
With its distinct olive-green hue and one-of-a-kind etched surface (ranging from fern-like to lacy), the different types of Moldavite are named after the village closest to the digging (Besednice, Chlum, Slavce, etc.)
Today, only four Moldavite mines continue to operate in the Czech Republic, and stocks are dwindling rapidly in proportion to its surging popularity.
Moldavite is a mineral of intense frequency and high vibration.
