"Very enticing bouquet, complex, fleshy and fresh with aromas of plums and myriad red berries, black currant then spices, vanilla and moments of clove the dark clay earth suggestions. Dry on the palate with medium+ body, flavours of dark berries and plums are matched by firm tannins and a back bone of acidity surrounded by a judicious level of oak and spice.. Plenty of texture and power, a wine best suited to food while still in its youth. The length and concentration, structure and finesse suggest a wine that will age well with best drinking from 2025 through 2030" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Mar 2023
Lovely garnet red in colour. Aromas of plums and wild blackberry mingling with milk chocolate and smoky spice make this wine instantly appealing. The palate is full of sweet, silky, dark berry fruit and mocha chocolate finishing with beautifully plush tannins.
The Grenache is sourced from the Kalimna and Marananga subregions of the Barossa known for their light, sandy soils over clay, perfect for growing quality Grenache. The Shiraz is primarily sourced from the Kalimna subregion, renowned for delivering great perfume and mid-palate weight. The Mataro is grown in a single vineyard in Kalimna and adds tannin length to the wine.
A cool winter with lighter than average rainfalls. Mild, dry weather through the growing season produced grapes with great flavour and concentration. Summer was full of sunshine and dry weather, great for ripening the grapes and providing wonderfully vibrant flavours.
Food Pairing: Beef carpaccio with capers and shaved parmesan or mushroom ragù with pappardelle pasta.
