Notes from the Roaster

This week, we've got a beautiful washed Gesha from Demetrio Sanchez Pino. Demetrio owns 2 farms, El Arrayal and El Roblal where he grows several different varietals of coffee along with corn, avocado and arracacha, an Andean root vegetable native to the area. While this isn't the same exact Gesha lot that won him 2nd place in Copo De Oro 24', it does have the same processing method and it came out absolutely incredible.

Layered and dynamic, complex florals, an intense acidity, this coffee really is the platonic ideal of a washed Colombian Gesha.

In the cup we're tasting crystal clear yellow fruit flavors like starfruit and apricot, along with very well defined florals like orange blossom and jasmine. As the cup cools, a slight hint of star anise comes out and lingers on the finish.
