When do I need to change my belt? Mercury suggests change of the Serpentine Belt (8M0142251) every 300 hours with engines 225-300 V8 4.6L engines. Please note, if you run the boat hard or have a Mercury Racing 450R/500R -- this belt needs to be changed every 100 hours along with the supercharger belt.
