Reproduction of Horizon by Piper Rhue
Piper Rhue — "Horizon" is a compelling example of contemporary abstract landscape painting that engages with the legacy of color field abstraction while asserting a distinctly modern sensibility. The work aligns with the post-war American abstract tradition, particularly in its use of large, flat planes of color and emphasis on materiality and gesture. Rhue’s handling of paint—thick, textured, and layered—evokes the tactile qualities of early abstract expressionism, yet her restrained palette and formal structure root the piece in a more contemporary minimalism. The composition is built upon an asymmetric balance, with the deep, dark blue form on the right serving as a visual anchor that contrasts with the lighter, more diffuse washes of blue and white on the left. This creates a subtle tension that suggests depth and movement without resorting to figurative representation. The use of negative space is deliberate and strategic, allowing the viewer’s eye to rest and the colors to breathe, enhancing the work’s meditative quality. The cool tonal range, dominated by blues and whites, evokes a sense of calm and vastness, aligning the piece with the tradition of atmospheric landscapes that seek to capture mood and environment rather than topography. In its restraint and precision, "Horizon" speaks to a broader cultural shift toward quiet, introspective art that values presence over narrative, making it a significant contribution to the discourse of modern abstract painting. For more art by Piper Rhue click here.

Good for a while
Pattern Name: Tug Rag
My GSD puppy, at 6 months made shredded leather out of this in a matter of weeks. Initially it was fine but if you spend more than an hour or two playing with your dog, chances are this toy will begin to tear.

Crazy how much our dog loved this
Pattern Name: Tug Rag
It is crazy how much our baby loved this thing. Has held up decently except she chewed off the handle like a goober. Fun to play tug of war with. Soft and safe for teeth. She loves carrying it from room to room, nice and light.
