Some GM vehicles require a one-time control module unlock service to enable transmission tuning. While this would normally require mailing off your vehicle's control module to HP Tuners headquarters, having the vehicle sit for a number of days, waiting on processing, then reinstalling the module, we offer a much simpler solution. We are proud to be an authorized HP Tuners Dealer and Unlock facility, which means we take care of this all in-house! TCM Unlock Only Service

Our unlock-only option will upgrade your TCM to enable tuning. Simply send us your TCM and we’ll send it back to you fully upgraded for tuning.

Note: Keep in mind that with this option, your TCM will be returned to you with the same programming. If you want the TCM to be pre-programmed to a different VIN, this is not the option for you. Please select “Upgrade & Program” instead.

Note: No need for an IMMO Relearn, Crank Relearn, or to perform the “Replace TCM” Function in VCM Scanner on the stock TCM.

TCM Unlock & Program Service

Our unlock and program option allows you to send in your TCM (new or spare) to be upgraded and pre-programmed for a specific VIN. Once unlocked and licensed, your TCM will be “plug and play” and can be tuned immediately—no need for the GM factory tool.

Simply select “Unlock & Program” from the options above and ensure you include your VIN (please double-check your VIN for accuracy to avoid delays) in the checkout notes. 

Note: If you are removing the TCM from your vehicle and plan to reinstall it in the same vehicle, you do not require this service. Please select the “Upgrade Only” option instead.

SHIPPING
The customer is responsible for the shipping cost/method when sending the TCM to PowerLabs. Once the order for this service is placed, you will be emailed with further packaging/shipping instructions.

After the TCM arrives at PowerLabs, we will unlock the TCM so it can then be licensed, edited, and flashed with HP Tuners software! This is a one-time unlock that will not affect other operations of the TCM. The factory tools will still work for service and HP Tuners will then work for tuning!

Please allow 1-2 business days (plus the time to ship the TCM) for the unlock process to finish.

Once you receive the TCM back from unlock, re-install the TCM back into the vehicle and then you may tune the TCM with HP Tuners after licensing the TCM.
