Sourced from vineyards in the Riverland regions, the parcels of fruit were in excellent condition following great vintage conditions. The fruit was crushed and transferred to red fermenters, where it was fermented on oak at cooler temperatures of 18–22°C for 5–7 days. Fermenting at these cooler temperatures helps preserve the fruit's flavours and enhances the retention of varietal characteristics. After fermentation, the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks, then blended, stabilized, and clarified.

In the winery a cheeky little pig started to make a name for himseld. Random mischevious acts were being encountered, often acompanied by a glimpse of a curly tailed behind scrambling away with the cutest of little snorts. The winemakers could not help but love this little character; so much so that they named a wine after him.
