Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the spark plug leads and shift the outboard into neutral.
2. Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the gear case drain and vent screws to drain the oil.
3. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gear case) to the midsection.
4. Carefully lower and separate the gear case from the driveshaft housing.
5. Unscrew the bolts on top of the water pump housing and lift it off.
6. Remove the old impeller, gasket, wear plate, and key from the driveshaft.
7. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly, removing any old gasket material or sealant.
8. Install the new key, gasket, and wear plate.
9. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning it clockwise to fit it into the housing cup.
10. Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
11. Reattach the lower unit to the midsection, ensuring the driveshaft and water tube align correctly.
12. Refill the gear case with fresh oil, reinstall the engine cover, and test operation in water, confirming a strong tell-tale stream.
