AliMed FREEDOM Adjustable Footdrop Brace

The AliMed FREEDOM Adjustable Footdrop Brace is a specialized clinical orthosis engineered to manage mild to moderate foot drop (dorsiflexion weakness). By utilizing a high-tension bungee system and a reinforced ankle cuff, this brace provides the essential lift needed to clear the toe during the swing phase of gait, significantly reducing the risk of trips and falls.

Nationwide Shipping & Regional Expertise

Medical Department Store is a trusted provider of AliMed rehabilitative solutions. While we offer rapid nationwide shipping, our local presence in Southwest Florida—including our Sarasota, Naples, and Fort Myers showrooms—ensures every brace is vetted for the breathability and comfort required in warm coastal climates. The padded cuff is specifically designed to prevent skin irritation in humid environments.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Universal Adjustable Design: A one-size-fits-most solution that eliminates the need for complex sizing charts, making it ideal for patients with fluctuating ankle swelling.
  • Shoe-Agnostic Attachment: Unlike rigid plastic AFOs, the FREEDOM brace attaches to the eyelets of almost any lace-up or velcro shoe, allowing you to wear your preferred footwear.
  • Customizable Tension: The adjustable bungee cord and locking clasp allow the user to fine-tune the amount of "lift" provided, accommodating different levels of muscle fatigue throughout the day.
  • Low-Profile & Discreet: The transparent stirrup and slim ankle cuff make this brace virtually invisible under trousers, providing clinical support without the bulk of traditional orthotics.

Clinical Authority: Dynamic Gait Stabilization

This brace is clinically indicated for patients recovering from stroke, nerve injury, or multiple sclerosis who present with foot drop. Unlike rigid "static" AFOs, the AliMed FREEDOM offers dynamic stabilization. It provides a "Zero-Friction" elastic recoil that mimics the function of the tibialis anterior muscle, promoting a more natural gait pattern and preventing the compensatory "hip hiking" often seen with dorsiflexion deficits.

Top Industry Applications

  • Rehabilitative Recovery: An excellent step-down brace for patients transitioning from a rigid AFO to a more functional, lightweight support.
  • Active Seniors: Provides the confidence and safety needed for walking, shopping, and social activities in the Sarasota and Naples communities.
  • In-Home Safety: A vital tool for reducing fall risks on various flooring surfaces common in Southwest Florida homes.

Technical Specifications

  • Sizing: Universal (Adjustable)
  • Attachment: Eyelet-based stirrup system
  • Material: Padded nylon/foam cuff with monofilament cord
  • HCPCS Code: L1932

Clinical FAQ

Can I wear this with sandals? This brace requires a shoe with eyelets or a secure closure (like a sneaker or oxford) to anchor the stirrup system.

How do I clean the cuff? Hand wash the ankle cuff in cool water with a mild detergent and air dry. Do not machine wash or dry.

Is the bungee cord replaceable? The high-strength monofilament is designed for long-term durability, but ensure the locking clasp is fully engaged to prevent premature wear.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
