The Aluminium Chair is one of the most significant furniture designs of the 20th century. The chair was created at the request of Eero Saarinen, who, along with Alexander Girard, was working on the design of the Irwin Miller house. For the house's outdoor space, they were searching for the right garden furniture. Charles and Ray Eames fulfilled this task with the design of the Aluminium Chair, which marked a departure from their characteristic, single-piece seat shells. Interestingly, the chair became more popular for indoor use rather than outdoors, which aligns perfectly with the Eames' design philosophy: they preferred to create products that could be applied as broadly as possible. 

The lounge chair features a seat made from aluminum side and cross profiles, between which fabric is tightly stretched. This creates a seat that is firm yet elastic and comfortable. A new icon was born!

The EA 124 is the quintessential lounge chair in the Aluminium Group. Its high backrest, headrest, and tilt mechanism, which can be adjusted based on the user's weight, provide superb comfort. The lounge chair is 65 cm wide, 98.5 cm high, and 78 cm deep. The seat height is 30.5 cm. To complete the set, pair the swiveling EA 124 with the matching footrest (EA 125).
