Nikon VR enhances that speed with up to 4 stops* of blur-free handheld shooting, including a new mode specifically for shooting Sports and Action, while a specialized electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism achieves remarkably consistent exposures when shooting at high frame rates. Superb NIKKOR optics and Nikon lens technologies

The AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8E FL ED VR is an advanced lens designed to draw peak potential from high-resolution Nikon D-SLRs. The lens' ultra-fast, ultra-quiet Silent Wave Motor (SWM) provides outstanding autofocus performance with seamless manual override (just spin the lens barrel). Two fluorite lens elements (FL) provide superior optical characteristics while minimizing overall weight, while two Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements nearly eliminate chromatic aberration, even at f/2.8.

Technology

  • ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass

    An optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.

  • Fluorite Lens Element

    Fluorite (FL), a lightweight mono-crystal optical material, has excellent optical properties while reducing overall lens weight to improve balance and handling, especially useful in longer focal length lenses.

  • IF Lens

    A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.

  • Nano Crystal Coat

    An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon that virtually eliminates internal lens element reflections across a wide range of wavelengths. Nano Crystal Coat solves ghost effects caused by red light and effectively reduces ghost and flare caused by light entering the lens diagonally.

  • Silent Wave Motor

    AF-S NIKKOR lenses feature Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM). This technology converts “traveling waves” into rotational energy to focus the optics. This enables high-speed autofocusing that's extremely accurate and super quiet.

  • Vibration Reduction

    A Nikon in-lens technology that improves image stability by automatically compensating for camera shake. Lenses that offer VR will feature the abbreviation VR on the lens barrel.

Not sure it's pure Batana oil
I'm not a botanical expert, so I may be totally wrong about this, but based on the ingredients, I don't think this is pure Batana Oil. The ingredient list (typos included) reads: "Elaeis Oleifera Kernel Oil, Babassuamide DEA, AscorbicAcid, Phytosterols, Carotenoids, Vitamins c." The last 4 ingredients might just be components of the oil itself, rather than additives. But Elaeis Oleifera (American Palm) Kernel Oil is Batana oil. But Babassuamide DEA is an oil that comes from the kernels of the babassu palm, not the American palm. Sure, it's still "palm kernel oil", but if I wanted just any ol' palm kernel oil, then I'd use some out of the cooking oil bottle in the kitchen and save myself a buck. I wanted 100% Pure Batana oil. I also can't figure out why the description talks about it containing Vitamin E, when that isn't listed as an ingredient. If it's been added, then it definitely needs to be listed on the package. If it's a natural chemical part of the oil itself, and the same is true of the Vitamin C listed, then why not list both separately? Or is the Vitamin C listed because it's been added despite them saying it's pure Batana oil? I don't know. So if you just want some kind of palm kernel oil to moisturize your hair, and you're not particular about whether or not it's really pure Batana oil, then this might be the oil for you. But, if you're a stickler for purity, maybe not. And there are lots of cheaper Batana-type palm oils out there that aren't true Batana, if price is more important to you than purity.
