Maglite's third-generation black ML50LX 3C-Cell LED Flashlight maintains the iconic form factor and focusable beam, while adding three light outputs plus a strobe for signaling, momentary activation, and four pre-programmed function sets designed for specific uses. This version of the ML50LX has a minimum output of 20 lumens; providing ample illumination for performing tasks such as reading, digging through your pack or looking for something in the kitchen drawer, while the maximum 611-lumen beam is useful for navigating and conducting searches. A fast-focus system allows the beam to be adjusted from a tight spot optimized for a far throw to a wide flood for illuminating large areas with a quick 1/4 turn of the head. In an effort to limit excessive button-pressing and confusing sequences, the light is engineered with four selectable 'function sets'. Each set has a specific usage in mind, with a different set of three pre-programmed outputs. The function sets are described as: General, Outdoor, Law Enforcement, and Tactical. Built for durability, the aluminum housing has a scratch and corrosion-resistant black anodized finish, and is O-ring sealed for a weather-resistant IPX4 rating. Its deep 'grenade' textured handle provides a sure, slip-resistant grip in cold or wet weather. Weighing in at just 16 oz, with the three user-supplied C-cell batteries, the ML50LX is a reliable light that won't weigh you down.

READ THIS IMMEDIATELY

No seriously pause. Because what in the actual psychological horror fever dream did I just read??? BUT like in a five stars my brain is permanently altered kind of way
Everything about this book felt like perfection wrapped in dread. It has been living rent free in my head since I closed it and honestly I don't see it leaving anytime soon. I have tried to pick up other books since and my brain just says no we live here now (badumchaaa iykyk)
I devoured it in one day because putting it down was simply not an option. I wasn't even expecting to get this invested but something about Kliewers writing just grabbed me by the throat and said you have taken on the job as caretaker you can't leave now
This is not just a book you read
It is a book that stays
And lingers
It is intense. Creepy. Deep. Completely mind bending in a way that feels personal. Yes it delivers that classic something is lurking terror but the real horror is the emotional kind. The kind that pokes at your soft spots and doesnt apologize.
It hits fear. Loneliness. Grief. Depression. Regret. And it does it in a way that feels uncomfortably real. Like you are not just scared, you are seen. And that is just absolutely terrifying
And Macey. I have never seen myself so clearly in a character. She is me. I am her. The overthinking? The spiraling inner monologues? The dry humor? I felt personally attacked in the most validating way. I highlighted SO many of her thoughts because I swear I have had those exact conversations with myself. No lie.
I want to scream at everyone to read this while also gently grabbing you by the shoulders and saying CHECK THE CONTENT WARNINGS FIRST This book goes to some heavy places. But if you can handle those please PRETTY PLEASE pick it up AND PLEASE JUST TURN OFF THE LIGHT

Another great book

The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer
As a fan of We Used to Live Here, I was really excited to receive an ARC of The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer—and it definitely delivered.
This story had exactly the kind of atmosphere I was hoping for: tense, eerie, and creepy. Kliewer does a fantastic job building suspense and keeping that uneasy feeling simmering throughout the book.
There were quite a few moments where I found myself practically yelling at the main character to make different choices but it also added to the tension in a way that kept me fully invested.
Overall, this was a gripping read with aN unsettling and a compelling storyline.

Weird story, but great writing
Format: Hardcover
This novel started out strong: good premise, good writing that pulls you in and makes you feel like you're there with the main character, and a great setting for creepiness. BUT, as I continued to read, I got more frustrated by it. The main character's actions become irritating, the story bogs down a bit towards the end, and there is ZERO explanation for any of the purpose behind her actions. Some questions I still have: WHY do you have to follow these specific instructions, what really happens if you don't, and WHO are the people on the phone? If you're a fan of "Lost" or "From", you'll probably enjoy this. But if you need closure and a solid ending, this might only frustrate you.

The entity is satire for suicidal ideation
Format: Kindle
In my opinion The Caretaker is a heartbreaking story exploring how suicide survivors and people with depression struggle to get by in a world that is constantly demanding more of the most vulnerable. This book’s entity and the “rites” utilized to keep it at bay I believe to be more satirical than literal. I don’t think this is a literal SCP-type monster with super rigid containment procedures. I believe it to be a malevolent entity that embodies the pressures the mentally ill have to face every day. Whether that means it is an actual embodiment of suicidal ideation or not, no one can truly be sure and the vagueness of the story allows anyone to form their own conclusions on the matter. I personally believe that the entity wants more than anything to make the Caretaker suffer and give up hope so that it can spread its malevolence and their agony far and wide. The “rites” are representative of the day to day work and chores the mentally ill have to slog through for their survival but not necessarily in the best interest for their mental wellbeing. The “visitors” are representative of the people the mentally ill have to deal with and sacrifice their own mental fortitude for in and outside of work. The rabbits are an extremely layered nonspecific representation of the innocence that others ask to be sacrificed for their own personal gain.
Macy Mullins is a well thought out train wreck of woman who has more problems than not with seemingly the entire world working against her. Any person who has felt suicidal, depressed, hatred for the world, or even conflict with their own emotional wellbeing can see themselves in this character. As the caretaker, Macy is tormented by the entity with her past of depression, grief, and hardship and her mental state is pushed to the very limit. While the story can feel slightly inconsistent with the entity’s behavior and the rites Macy has to try in vain to complete, the book succeeds in capturing the exhaustion and hopelessness that those suffering from suicidal thoughts and depression feel when they no longer feel they have no other way out from their own suffering. This is the tragedy of the story and the true raw sympathy it has for Macy and people like her. I wish all who read this my very best and I hope one day we can all believe in a world where less “rabbits” need to be sacrificed for everyone’s wellbeing.
