This Signature Edition Klaatu Concept Maquette Replica is part of our Star Wars Archive Collection, a continuation and expansion of our work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage.
Limited to just 100 pieces, each hand-painted maquette in this Signature Edition includes a metal plaque hand-signed by legendary ILM visual effects supervisor, Ken Ralston. In addition to his visual effects work, Ralston was part of the team that did concept work for the ILM creature shop on Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™. As part of that work, he sculpted the maquette for the Klaatu alien character.
This maquette was the first step in designing the “Klatooinian” creatures that would show up in the palace, sail barge and skiffs of Jabba the Hutt. With hands-on access to the original film artifact and high resolution 3D scanning, our team crafted a faithful recreation of the concept maquette for this iconic alien from the movie.
At approximately 7” tall (including the wood display base), each is cast in solid polyurethane resin. 100% made in the U.S.A., every replica in this edition is meticulously hand painted by the artists in our New York studio, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films!
