Formation & Characteristics
Smoky Citrine describes a natural pairing of Smoky Quartz and Citrine. The material shows hues ranging from smoky brown to golden yellow with translucent to transparent zones and occasional inclusions. The tall generator point features a natural cave and rainbow flashes; tips exhibit smoky banding. The small piece displays tiny speckled rainbows on the surface. Crystals have natural cavities on the outer surface and may show minor imperfections inherent to a natural product. The colour in smoky quartz results from natural radiation activating colour centres around aluminium impurities within quartz.
