Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is off.
2. Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the gearcase oil drain screw to empty the oil.
3. Remove the bolts that secure the lower unit (gearcase) to the engine's exhaust housing.
4. Carefully slide the lower unit down and away from the engine.
5. Locate the water pump assembly on top of the gearcase and remove its mounting bolts.
6. Lift the water pump housing off, exposing the impeller. Note the rotational direction of the old impeller's vanes.
7. Remove the old impeller, gasket, and wear plate. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
8. Install the new wear plate and gasket.
9. Slide the new woodruff key into the driveshaft slot.
10. Align the new impeller with the key and slide it down while turning the driveshaft clockwise to seat the vanes correctly inside the housing.
11. Reinstall the water pump housing, tightening the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
12. Reattach the lower unit to the engine and refill the gearcase with the recommended marine gear oil.
