The highly secure 3.5" Aegis 6TB Padlock DT FIPS External Desktop Drive from Apricorn features an easy to use keypad design making it simple to secure your important data using a seven to sixteen digit pin code. Real-time 256-bit XTS AES hardware encryption ensures data remains secure even if the hard drive is removed from the enclosure. The aluminum enclosure the drive sits in features a USB 3.0 interface for SuperSpeed data transfers while the 8MB cache memory buffer and 12 ms average seek time provide consistent drive performance. This secure hard drive can even withstand operating shock of up to 300 G (2 ms) to keep data safe and secure when on the go.

- The Aegis Padlock DT FIPS 140-2 validation CERT #1965 is the cryptography standard required by the US federal government and military for protection of all sensitive data, covering 11 areas of its cryptographic security system, including physical security, cryptographic key management, and design integrity. With 256-bit hardware encryption, the Padlock DT FIPS seamlessly encrypts all data on-the-fly, within the drive
- Forced Enrolment PIN
- The Aegis Padlock DT FIPS elevates your data security by placing a Forced Enrolment PIN feature at the front end of the setup process. Since there is no factory-preset admin PIN number, a unique admin password must be created and entered to begin the initial drive setup.
- Administrator Feature
- The drive allows for one admin PIN and up to four unique user PINS, making it a suitable conduit for secure business collaboration. With the Admin PIN, the administrator is able to enter variable settings and permissions on the drive
- Brute-Force Self Destruct
- The Aegis Padlock uses a three-pronged approach to protect against a Brute-Force attack. The first step is to deny access to the drive until the drive can verify the user PIN. After several incorrect attempts, the drive will lock itself, requiring the drive to be disconnected and then reconnected again to retry a PIN entry. This feature blocks automated attempts to enter PIN numbers. Lastly, after a predetermined number of failed PIN entries, the Padlock assumes it is being attacked and will destroy the encryption key and will then lock itself, rendering the data is useless and requiring a total reset to redeploy the device

- Protection against hacker attempts does not stop with Brute-Force. Incorporated into the Aegis Padlock's electronics is Apricorn's Variable Time Circuit (VTC) technology, working to thwart timing attacks aimed at accessing the drive by studying the behavior and infiltrating the Padlock's electronics

Ash vs. Moisture/Success?

The product feels great on the skin and moisturizes well. Although, don't be fooled by the smokey coffee detail. I'm an avid expresso bean grinder and drinker, this is no coffee. Smells like strong chain smokers favorite corner of the house on a stressful day. Imagine ash trays and Jojoba blended. Now that that's explained, it genuinely feels great on the skin/beard/scalp. Unfortunately, I am unsure how long my wife will tolerate this as a nighttime routine.

So far nothing amazing

So I’ve been using for a couple of weeks now and I haven’t noticed any difference. I am going to continue on. I don’t know if it takes time for it to actually show some results. I will say two things about it. It comes solid for 12 my jar cracked and broken And it’s non-returnable so I just have to deal with it so that’s unfortunate after paying $20 second of all it is a solid mass so you have to put it in your hands and kind of warm it up for it to become any sort of an oil and I wouldn’t even consider it an oil at that it’s more of like a cream once you warm it up in your hands, but it doesn’t make your hair greasy. I use a small amount I would think that the jar would last a long time given that you don’t need a lot to get through to your scalp unfortunately, with my jar being cracked, I don’t know how that’s gonna affect the longevity of the product And it does have a smell think of burnt coffee beans that will dissipate after about an hour to an hour and a half after putting it on, but if you’re not putting it on, I’m just going to bed. It might be become an issue. I’m gonna wait it out. I hope I do see results from doing this but again so far nothing.

It works and I love it!

I love this product.. been using it for a few months now. My hair is more manageable and my thinning crown looks and feels fuller. The smoky smell, am not bothered because it disappears after a few minutes. I use it twice a week, massage very little amount on scalp and hair, then the next day wash it off with shampoo. I used to need to dye my gray every 3 to 4 months when some appear. Now, it's been 4 months since my last visit to the salon. I noticed my hair has darken a bit. I can delay my salon visit for another month unless I need a haircut!! Yehey!
