"Lightly hazy salmon appearance. Soft aromas of orange peel, sumac and pomegranate on a savoury-tinged bouquet; earthy rather than fruity. The palate enters with a burst of mouth-filling papaya and boysenberry flavours trimmed with some smoky heat on the back. Broad, weighty and textural with a rounded mouth-feel that firms up towards the dry finish. There is the excellent concentration of fruit which gives way to earthy, savoury walnut flavours. A dry, grainy and full-bodied dry Rosé which gains weight and complexity as it warms up in the glass. "A ruddy orange hue with a seam of red and lots of polish leads to a bouquet of complex from lees and mineral, roses fresh and roses fallen, a clay stone idea and tea. Fruit scents suggest apricot and apple. On the palate a delicious wine with a core of mineral then texture then abstract flavours that follow the bouquet and red apple. Fine mouthfeel with a lick of white pepper before the fruit tannins show. Well made, intriguing and rather delicious. The Wrekin Vineyard lies within its own small valley located on the north facing slopes of the larger Fairhall Valley. It is also a part of the sub-region of Marlborough known as the 'Southern Valleys'. This is one of the highest vineyards in the valley.
