Course Code: 26SBB102V

This three-week, virtual workshop takes place on Zoom on  Mondays, February 16th to March 2nd, from 6PM to 8PM ET

  • Monday, February 16th, from 6PM to 8PM ET
  • Monday, February 23rd, from 6PM to 8PM ET
  • Monday, March 2nd, from 6PM to 8PM ET

Please Note: Registration for this workshop closes on February 2nd, at 11:59pm Eastern Time.

About the Workshop:

Drum leaf bindings are lay-flat structures ideal for displaying photographs and prints. This workshop will introduce techniques for constructing book blocks for a Japanese Album, a Japanese Butterfly book, and a drum leaf binding which all have similar and ingenious modes of assembly.

After learning these structures, participants will case-in their drum leaf book blocks with easily assembled quarter-cloth covers with throw-back spines. Since each page spread is a single folded folio, images can be printed across the gutter with no interruption, making this structure popular with printmakers and photographers. Once completed, these books lie flat when opened, making them easy and comfortable to view. No previous bookbinding experience required!

Fun Fact: Drum leaf binding is a structure developed by artist and bookbinder Timothy Ely. He was inspired by his studio of vellum binding in England, where he observed how vellum was drummed to boards to minimize pulling.

Wish I could give more stars after 8 months 🙌🏼
Size: Large (5" x 3.25" x 9")
I purchased this in June and I've come back in January to leave a review. This was the first toy I bought my dog I had it delivered while she was still in the shelter and it has lasted longer than any other toy. Not only can she not destroy it when she's actively trying but she still loves it she plays with it all the time I don't even need to put treats in it she just enjoys the texture. This toy was such a win. I have wasted so much money since then on other toys that say their indestructible and turn up in pieces. I wish I could give it more stars

Dog loves it! For tough chewers for sure
Size: Medium/Large, Color: Dog Ness Monster - Large, Size: Medium/Large, Color: Dog Ness Monster - Large
Dog absolutely loves it, he’s super rough on all of his toys they usually last about 10 minutes bore they are torn to shreds. It’s lasting through his chewing so I’m happy. It’s also super cute.

Cute toy, dog really likes it. I had my doubts when I pulled it out, and honestly so did she, but the soft part bounces, so that got her going. We've had it for about a week. My dog is ~70 lbs and a moderate chewer, and this monster still gets regular play and is holding up well.
