Care and Maintenance:

Our chopping boards are finished with food-safe oils to protect the wood and enhance its rich tones. By following these simple care instructions, your chopping board will remain durable, hygienic, and beautiful for generations to come.

Usage:
Avoid using serrated knives, including electric knives and bread knives.
Never leave the board wet for extended periods.
Avoid extended exposure to sunlight

Cleaning:
Not suitable for use in dishwashers, submersion in hot water or steam
Wipe or hand wash as needed using cold or lukewarm water, a mild detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. 
Pat dry with paper towel immediately after washing or rest upright to allow the board to air dry

Maintenance:
If the board looks dry, simply apply a coat of food-grade mineral oil with a rag, let it dry for 12-24 hours and then wipe away the excess with a clean rag. This will keep the wood water resistant and easy to clean. We recommend Walrus brand chopping board oil which is 100% food safe and will protect and preserve your chopping board. Included with our chopping boards is a complimentary Chopping Board Care Starter Pack, featuring care instructions, a small polishing pad, and a 59ml bottle of Walrus Chopping Board Oil.

The starter pack is intended to help you kick-start the care of your chopping board and should provide enough oil for several applications.

We recommend applying the oil regularly to maintain the timber's natural character and durability.
