Product Description:
Jamaican Castor Oil, also known as Jamaican Black Castor Oil, is a traditional carrier oil made from the seeds of the castor plant (Ricinus communis), the same plant that yields regular castor oil. The key difference lies in the process. Rather than being cold pressed from raw beans, Jamaican Castor Oil is made by roasting the castor beans, grinding them into a paste, and then boiling and pressing to extract the oil. This roasting process gives the oil its characteristic dark brown to black colour, smoky scent, and thicker consistency compared to regular castor oil. The method originates from traditional Jamaican and Caribbean hair care practices and has since become a recognised staple in hair care formulations worldwide. At Maduras Herbals, we supply Jamaican Castor Oil as a raw material for cosmetic manufacturers, DIY formulators, and hair care brands looking for an authentic, traditionally processed carrier oil.
