How It Works

Clinical Studies and Research

Safety and Tolerability of AOD-9604 in Humans (Heike Stier, Evert Vos, David Kenley)

Background: AOD-9604 is a safe peptide fragment of the C-terminus of HGH with activity related to weight loss. This study reviews the safety data obtained from clinical trials involving AOD-9604.

Methods: Six randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials were conducted to assess the effects of AOD-9604 and whether it caused the typical side effects seen with HGH treatments, such as increased IGF-1 levels, insulin resistance, and impaired glucose tolerance.

Results: AOD-9604 did not affect serum IGF-1 levels or carbohydrate metabolism. No serious adverse events were reported, and patients did not develop anti-AOD-9604 antibodies.

Conclusion: AOD-9604 demonstrated excellent safety and tolerability, without the negative effects often seen with full-length HGH treatments.
