The second-annual limited release from the Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series is here. For this 2020 release, we set out to create a worthy tribute to the one-of-a-kindvanilla and caramel taste notes in our signature Maker’s Mark. These notes are the result of seasoning our wood outside for a full year, which – while more time consuming – unlocks the naturally occurring notes in our classic bourbon through deeper wood degradation. To celebrate these notes, we partnered with Independent Stave Company to develop two stave profiles, SE4 and PR5 – married together to create this brand-new expression. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Maker’s Mark 46 – the brand’s first innovation and the bourbon that began our Wood Finishing Series. Since then, we’ve built upon that legacy with Maker’s Mark Private Selection and last year’s first limited release, RC6. Each annual limited release highlights a different, unique aspect of the originalMaker’s Mark taste profile – illustrating how variations in wood can amplify the depths of flavor within our bourbon.
