Formation & Characteristics

Black obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed when felsic lava eruptions rapidly cool, yielding a dense, glassy material. This sphere shows a uniform black colour, high gloss, and a smooth contour, with no visible inclusions from the exterior. It is suitable for desk display and as a reference sample in mineral studies.
