The UGears mechanical Marble Run Chain Hoist model is both a beautiful kinetic sculpture and an intricate toy that teaches as it entertains. It is the first in the UGears collection of marble runs and features a chain hoist powered by a hand crank, and a series of tracks, each with a unique and fun obstacle or element.
A turn of the handle sets the machine in motion. The wooden chain hoist collects and lifts marbles to the top of the machine, where a three-way switch distributes them on different tracks. One marble plunges down a chute with a loop-the-loop at the bottom; the next tumbles down the various stages of the cascades, while three marbles are collected in the accumulator and released down one of three short tracks. Once the marbles pass through the common tray or collector, they return to the chain hoist to restart the journey.
The 400-piece kit is rated “Intermediate" and has an estimated assembly time of 7 hours. The kit contains everything you need, including pre-cut wooden boards, 10 marbles, wax, sandpaper (for optimal gear function) and full-color illustrated, step-by-step instructions. No additional tools or glue are necessary.
UGears Marble Runs are very strong. Their rigidity is achieved through a sturdy base and tightened frame parts. They are designed to be modular allowing each model to work as a standalone, or it can be connected frontally or laterally to other UGears Marble Runs of the same or different design. Up to four models can be joined in pairs using the special connectors (included in the kit). The results are an amazingly complex system of interconnected elements, all powered by a single crank. When combined, the rocker mechanism at the end of the run can send marbles in one direction or the other (or both directions, depending on the attached weight), then return them to the original hoist or send them to a different run. It's like a miniature amusement park!

Good for organization, looks neat!

I've had this for almost a year now and expect to have it for a few more; seems very durable. The drain board thingy requires consistent cleaning every few days, but its done in less than two minutes. I usually wash the entire thing every two weeks to keep it shiny as well. I am seeing a little bit of rust, but it's not too much and it's not noticeable if you don't look for it. It's great for organization and was easy to assemble. A very sturdy and well-sized product.

Serves purpose and holds what it was intended to

I like it. Keeps things organized and handy in small kitchen. The attachable bin holding my brushes I put on outside of unit not inside as company pics show it. That bin only has one clip to hold it in place. This makes it a little wobbly if you want to place it on the outside like I did. I used 2 trash bag twisties to help tighten it into place. Doing this made it no longer lose and the inside area space larger to hold both of my soaps. Fits everything I need it to. I appreciated the little lever on bottom that moves for water drainage. My sink design doesn’t work for the other drainage design I found these to have online.

Great sink organizer

I've been searching seems like forever for something to make my kitchen sink look more organized and this caddy solves my problem!! I found a different use for the basket that holds a scrub brush since I don't use one of those. Nice design that fits my kitchen objects and no worries about removing a tray to empty water out. I used the adhesive holder to attach it to the wall behind the sink but one corner is peeling off, causing the basket to hand on that side. :( It would have been nice to have a replacement for that, but overall I'm pretty impressed with this thing!!
