The PVI Multifold Reach Ramp is a portable, suitcase-style van ramp that loads power wheelchairs and mobility scooters into vans and SUVs — no permanent installation, no tools, no second person required. It goes anywhere you go and sets up in seconds.

The key difference between this ramp and a standard multifold ramp is the extended reach hook at the top — a transition plate designed specifically to clear the bumper and rear door seal of a van or SUV, bridging the gap between the vehicle's edge and the cargo floor without damaging the bumper or door seal. For anyone loading a power chair or scooter into the rear of a full-size van or SUV regularly, that extended hook makes the difference between a ramp that works cleanly and one that catches, scrapes, or requires repositioning every time.

800 lb capacity. 30 inches wide. Made in the USA by Prairie View Industries and tested to a 3× safety factor. Available in 6, 7, and 8 foot lengths — choose based on your vehicle's floor height and the slope you are comfortable navigating.

What Makes the Reach Ramp Different

Extended Reach Hook — Clears the Bumper

Standard portable ramps rest on the bumper — which creates a transition bump and can scratch or damage the vehicle over time. The Multifold Reach Ramp's extended hook is specifically engineered to span the distance from the bumper to the van's cargo floor, so the ramp surface connects directly to the vehicle interior without resting on the bumper. The result is a smooth, continuous loading surface with no bump at the transition point and no bumper damage from repeated use.

Folds Like a Suitcase — Separates Into Two Pieces

The ramp folds in half for compact suitcase-style carrying and storage. It can also be separated into two individual pieces — each light enough to carry comfortably in one hand — for situations where even the folded unit is awkward to manage alone. Steel security pins lock the two halves together during use and release quickly for separation. This two-piece design is the feature most caregivers and family members point to as the reason this ramp is manageable for solo operation.

Patented Pinch-Point Free Hinge

The center hinge uses PVI's patented design that eliminates the pinch points created by standard fold-over hinges. Important for fingers during setup and takedown, and for wheelchair and scooter tires crossing the fold point during loading.

Safe Slope Indicator

An attached safety guide indicates when the ramp angle is within safe operating range. Slope is determined by your vehicle's floor height and the ramp length — the indicator takes the guesswork out of confirming you have the right setup before loading.

30-Inch Wide Platform

At 30 inches wide, this ramp accommodates wheelchairs and scooters with various wheel configurations including wider bariatric models. Three inches wider than the rear door van ramp, which matters for larger equipment.

Choose Your Length — 6', 7', or 8'

All three lengths are 30 inches wide with the same 800 lb capacity. The difference is slope — a longer ramp creates a shallower angle, which is easier on mobility device motors and more comfortable for manual chair users. Choose based on your vehicle's floor height and how steep a slope you can comfortably navigate.

General guideline: The higher your van or SUV floor sits off the ground, the longer the ramp you need to keep the slope manageable. When in doubt, go longer — a shallower slope is always easier and safer than a steeper one.

6 Foot (UTW630)

Lightest · Most compact · Best for lower floor vehicles · Maximum 16" rise

The 6-foot is the lightest and most compact option — easiest to carry, easiest to store, smallest folded footprint. Best suited for vans and SUVs with a lower floor height where a shorter ramp still produces a manageable slope. If your vehicle has a relatively low cargo floor and portability is the priority, start here.

  • Length: 6 feet (72 inches)
  • Width: 30 inches
  • Weight: 41 lbs
  • Folded size: 38¼" × 16" × 10¾"
  • Capacity: 400 lbs single axle / 800 lbs two axles
  • Model: UTW630

7 Foot (UTW730)

Best all-around length · Standard full-size van · Shallower slope than 6' · Most popular

The 7-foot is the most commonly chosen length for standard full-size vans — it creates a shallower slope than the 6-foot while remaining manageable to fold, carry, and store. For most full-size vans with a standard floor height, the 7-foot hits the right balance between slope and portability. This is the length we recommend most often when a customer is unsure.

  • Length: 7 feet (84 inches)
  • Width: 30 inches
  • Weight: 46 lbs
  • Folded size: 44¼" × 16" × 10¾"
  • Capacity: 400 lbs single axle / 800 lbs two axles
  • Model: UTW730

8 Foot (UTW830)

Shallowest slope · Higher floor vehicles · Maximum rise 16" · Best for power chairs

The 8-foot creates the shallowest slope of the three lengths — the easiest on motors, the most comfortable for manual chair users, and the right choice when the vehicle floor is higher than average. For full-size high-roof vans, larger SUVs, or power chair users who want the most gradual incline possible, the 8-foot is the answer. It is the heaviest and largest folded, but the slope advantage is real and meaningful for daily use.

  • Length: 8 feet (96 inches)
  • Width: 30 inches
  • Weight: 52 lbs
  • Folded size: 50¾" × 16" × 11"
  • Capacity: 400 lbs single axle / 800 lbs two axles
  • Model: UTW830

Almost the perfect watch
Color: Black/Blue
I have owned three earlier models of these things going back to the days when I actually ran road races. They are brilliant pieces of work. My only complaint of them was that the start/stop/split button(s)--there were two on the older models--were too small. Well, apparently Timex listens and the two small buttons are now combined into one larger one. Probably this was done years ago but I'm only now getting back into road work, so now I get to discover it. The perfect watch? Almost. I especially like this model as my eyes are not what they used to be and the oversized face makes it easier to read. The downside to this is that it also makes the crystal easier to scratch. That's always been an issue, but I can live with it. No, the real problem with this product is, was, and apparently ever shall be, the band. Now, it could be worse, it could be a resin band (like the old ones) that will crack and break within a couple of years, but no, this is a nylon and velcro wrap style which should be just dandy, but for three glitches: 1. it's too short 2. it's too narrow (gee whiz, Timex designers, it's an oversized watch, why not a matching oversized band?) and 3. it's still resin where it attaches to the actual watch. Now, I imagine it's probably less prone to breakage in how it's implemented, but if you should choose to replace it, I can see no obvious way of removing it short of cutting it off. Really? But these are minor complaints. I doubt it would be comfortable on anyone whose wrists are much bigger than my own, but replacement bands are everywhere, and this watch will keep time with style and it's brilliant at splits. Heck, it even functions admirably as a backup for my expensive stopwatches at our regular short track stock car events. For my money (and did I mention the price is wonderful?) the Ironman is still the best at what it does, and for what it can do.

Good hard use watch.
Color: Black/Silver-Tone
Review Calibration: 3 stars means it works as advertised, nothing special during use, and no amazing features. Higher stars mean better-than-expected performance and features. This is 5 stars because it is my favorite work/hard-use watch. I have been wearing one for years, and like all Timex watches, it can take a beating. I have to replace it when the band's ears get so damaged that they won't hold the band on. This has more to do with the plastic's lifespan than with a design issue. I am hard on watches. This watch normally lasts ne 7-10 years between replacements.

Typical Ironman quality
Color: Black/Silver-Tone
This is my fourth Timex Ironman watch. I own many watches, and prefer the Ironman for casual wear and sporting activities as well as swimming and snorkeling. I decided to replace an earlier model with this one rather than pay to change the battery. The Ironman has changed very little over the years since its introduction in the '80s, with the exception of cosmetic improvememnts and a larger display. I selected the "oversize" model as I was looking for a little more heft to this model. This watch fits the bill, not as chunky as my G-Shock. A pleasant surprise was the weight of the watch. This model is lightweight, another advantage over the G. It's larger than the typical Ironman model, but about the same weight. The band lacks the stiffness of some other Timex and Casio models, and is quite comfortable. Typical Ironman functions are unchanged, and the ability to "hide" various functions makes operation of the watch more efficient. There are three time zones, useful when traveling, as well as the usual chronograph/timer and alarm functions. I haven't worn the watch in the pool or ocean yet, but if experience is any guide, I expect no problems. I've never had an Ironman leak, whether during water sports or snorkeling. These are great watches for the money. I prefer 200 meter water resistance for this type of watch, but Timex has yet to build an Ironman 200m that doesn't overwhelm my wrist in weight and size. I'm not a big guy, and they are simply too large for my wrist. Looking forward to years of service with this watch. Definitely a good timepiece for the price.

Will not be disappointed
Color: Black/Blue
Keeping in mind that I received this item yesterday (2/24/16), I absolutely love this watch. The reason I have so much confidence with this watch is because I've owned one other Timex similar to this one, and it served me extremely well and is still able to do so. First off, this watch is certainly aesthetically pleasing. The blue color around the face of the watch and outline in the band, goes really well with the black frame. It's just an overall nice looking watch. More importantly, the quality seems great. As I mentioned, I've owned a Timex expedition, which I've had for more than 2 years, and it's still working perfectly fine. The watch seems like it's put together very well and there's no loose or flimsy parts. One complaint that many people seem to have with Timex is the quality of their band. Unfortunately I'd have to agree, since the band on my other Timex that's still working like the first day I got it, cracked and broke and is only being held together by the nylon fabric on the other side of the band. You're not going to have that problem with this watch. It's a full nylon band with Velcro adjustment, for precise fitting. it feels extremely comfortable and you won't need to worry about the band cracking (although I'm sure there will be certain defects in a mass produced bunch). I will use this watch for work and running, and rarely plan on taking it off. Just to give you an idea, I also have a garmin gps watch that I love and obviously has more functions than this watch. However, the second I received this watch, I slapped it on and put my garmin to the side. This watch also looks amazing when you wear it. I'll update this feedback as needed, but I'm confident this watch will serve me for years to come, just as my other one has.
