The Kneeland Co. x Temple Studio Rug Collaboration was born out of friendship and a mutual admiration for textiles and pattern. A year in the making, the collection includes five styles that were inspired by antique prints and jacquards from the Kneeland Co. Textile Archive. Made in India and Nepal, each rug is made in a specific color palette that mimics its history and pattern. Based in NYC, Temple Studio is a conceptual textile, rug, and wall covering showroom representing select textile designers and artists as well as their own collections.
This style emerged from an antique Egyptian jacquard and is available in Skylight and Sunset. The name Akhet translates to ‘horizon’, and in Egyptian mythology the sun god Ra passes through the horizon at sunset. The blue is reminiscent of the sky and the lilac and lemon call to mind a glorious sunset.
