DALI EPIKORE 3 Stand-Mount Speakers at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The DALI EPIKORE 3 is a 3-way stand-mount loudspeaker from DALI (Skive, Denmark), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Bringing DALI KORE and EPICON technology directly into a compact bookshelf format, the EPIKORE 3 combines a 7-inch SMC Gen-2 Clarity Cone bass and midrange driver with the EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter featuring a 35mm soft dome and 10 x 55mm planar magnetostatic ribbon element, in a 3-way crossover configuration at 2,800Hz and 12,500Hz. With a frequency range of 42Hz to 34kHz (+/-3dB), maximum SPL of 108dB, and 85dB sensitivity at 6-ohm nominal impedance, the EPIKORE 3 is housed in a curved real-wood veneer cabinet with piano-finish lacquering in three exclusive high-gloss finishes, built by DALI in Denmark, with the optional EPIKORE Stand available separately for optimal placement.

KORE Technology in a Stand-Mount Format: EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter and SMC Gen-2

The EPIKORE 3 is the most compact expression of the technology lineage that begins with the flagship DALI KORE and runs through the EPIKORE 7, 9, and 11 floorstanders. The EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter, developed exclusively for the KORE, is present in its full form: a 35mm in-house-developed soft dome tweeter paired with a 10 x 55mm planar magnetostatic ribbon element driven by neodymium magnet motor systems, covering 2,800Hz through 34kHz with the smooth, effortless dynamics and wide horizontal dispersion that define the EVO-K's sonic character at any volume level. The 7-inch bass and midrange driver is newly designed specifically for the EPIKORE 3, equipped with an exceptionally large and powerful magnet system featuring SMC Gen-2 Soft Magnetic Compound technology that eliminates eddy current losses and non-linear magnetic distortion from the motor circuit. DALI's Clarity Cone Technology paper and wood fibre diaphragm further dampens unwanted resonances throughout the driver's operating range, delivering astonishing low-loss, low-distortion reproduction from a single driver handling the full bass and midrange bandwidth below 2,800Hz.

Continuous-Flare Bass Reflex Port and 42Hz Extension

The EPIKORE 3's bass reflex enclosure uses a continuous-flare port geometry that progressively widens from throat to mouth, minimizing air velocity and turbulence at the port exit to reduce port noise and dynamic compression during demanding bass passages. The reflex system is tuned to 39Hz, supporting the EPIKORE 3's 42Hz lower frequency limit, a genuinely extended bass reach for a stand-mount loudspeaker of its cabinet volume, achieved through the combination of the 7-inch woofer's large effective radiating area and the continuous-flare port's efficient low-turbulence air discharge. DALI recommends positioning the EPIKORE 3 between 35cm and 120cm from the rear wall, on a dedicated stand or shelf, for optimal bass integration and stereo imaging. The optional EPIKORE Stand is specifically engineered for the EPIKORE 3 and is strongly recommended for listeners seeking maximum acoustic performance from the speaker.

EPIKORE Stand: Extruded Aluminium with Integrated Cable Routing

The optional EPIKORE Stand is an exceptionally rigid extruded aluminium stand designed exclusively as the acoustic and mechanical foundation for the EPIKORE 3. It features a generously dimensioned machined top plate that mates precisely with the EPIKORE 3's cabinet base, integrated floor spikes with outriggers for a wide, stable footprint on carpeted or hard flooring, internal cable routing that eliminates external speaker cable runs between stand and speaker, and a sand-fill option that increases stand mass for improved vibration damping and mechanical stability. As a purpose-built system accessory rather than a universal stand, the EPIKORE Stand extracts the full acoustic potential of the EPIKORE 3 in a way that generic stands cannot match.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the DALI EPIKORE 3?

The DALI EPIKORE 3 is a 3-way stand-mount loudspeaker built by DALI in Denmark, featuring a 7-inch SMC Gen-2 Clarity Cone bass and midrange driver and the EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter with 35mm soft dome and 10 x 55mm planar magnetostatic ribbon, in a curved real-wood veneer piano-lacquer cabinet. It covers 42Hz to 34kHz with 85dB sensitivity, 6-ohm nominal impedance, and 108dB maximum SPL, weighing 22kg per speaker. The EPIKORE 3 is available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada, with the optional EPIKORE Stand available separately.

How does the DALI EPIKORE 3 compare to the EPIKORE 7 and the Harbeth M30.2 XD?

The DALI EPIKORE 3 shares the EVO-K Hybrid Tweeter and SMC Gen-2 Clarity Cone driver technology directly with the EPIKORE 7 floorstander, making it the only stand-mount speaker in the EPIKORE range to carry the full KORE technology package in a compact format. The EPIKORE 7 adds a second 7-inch driver in a 3.5-way configuration, extending to 35Hz versus the EPIKORE 3's 42Hz and reaching 110dB versus 108dB, while the EPIKORE 3's 22kg per speaker weight makes it far more practical to position and place. Against the Harbeth M30.2 XD, the EPIKORE 3's EVO-K ribbon super-tweeter extends to 34kHz versus the Harbeth's conventional dome tweeter ceiling, while its SMC Gen-2 motor technology addresses magnetic circuit distortion in a fundamentally different way to Harbeth's RADIAL cone approach. The Harbeth's 84dB sensitivity is comparable to the EPIKORE 3's 85dB, though the Harbeth's 8-ohm nominal impedance is more universally amplifier-friendly.

Does the DALI EPIKORE 3 need a dedicated stand?

The DALI EPIKORE 3 is recommended for use on a dedicated stand or shelf, and DALI offers the purpose-built EPIKORE Stand as the optimal acoustic and mechanical partner for this speaker. The EPIKORE Stand is engineered specifically for the EPIKORE 3, with a machined top plate matched to the speaker's cabinet base, integrated floor spikes with outriggers, internal cable routing, and a sand-fill option for increased mass and vibration damping. While the EPIKORE 3 can perform well on a quality third-party stand of appropriate height, the EPIKORE Stand is the recommended choice for listeners who want to realize the speaker's full acoustic potential as its designers intended.

What amplifier power does the DALI EPIKORE 3 need?

The DALI EPIKORE 3 is rated for amplifiers delivering between 40W and 250W into its 6-ohm nominal load. Its 85dB sensitivity is moderate, meaning it benefits from amplifiers with clean power delivery rather than simply high wattage, particularly for resolving the fine micro-dynamic detail that the SMC Gen-2 driver and EVO-K tweeter are capable of revealing. A high-quality integrated amplifier in the 50-150W range with stable 6-ohm output capability is appropriate for most listening rooms. Vinyl Sound can advise on specific amplifier pairings suited to the EPIKORE 3 and your room size.

Is the DALI EPIKORE 3 suitable for smaller rooms?

Yes, the EPIKORE 3 is specifically designed to bring KORE-level technology into smaller listening spaces where the EPIKORE 7, 9, and 11 floorstanders would be acoustically overwhelming or physically impractical. Its 42Hz bass extension and 108dB maximum SPL provide genuine authority and dynamic capability for a stand-mount speaker, while its compact 470 x 250 x 420mm cabinet dimensions allow placement in rooms where full floorstanders would dominate the space. The 35-120cm rear wall placement recommendation gives reasonable flexibility for room integration in typical domestic listening environments.

What finishes is the DALI EPIKORE 3 available in?

The DALI EPIKORE 3 is available in three exclusive high-gloss piano-lacquer finishes over real-wood veneer, matching the finish options across the EPIKORE floorstanding range. Contact Vinyl Sound in Toronto for current finish availability and lead times, as flagship loudspeaker finish options may vary and are subject to production scheduling and import availability in Canada.

Where can I buy the DALI EPIKORE 3 in Toronto or Canada?

The DALI EPIKORE 3 is available at Vinyl Sound, an authorized DALI dealer in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound can arrange in-store demonstration by appointment, advise on the optional EPIKORE Stand, and provide amplifier pairing recommendations for the complete EPIKORE 3 system. Purchasing from an authorized Canadian dealer ensures full DALI manufacturer warranty coverage and access to local expert support.

Interesting
Format: Kindle
This was a very captivating book once you got into it thoroughly. But the third person perspective was a bit hard to get used to. But as you got into it and followed the different characters, it was interesting and filled with intrigue, conflict and forbidden love. I can’t wait to read the next one and to complete the series.

Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Queen of Roses (Blood of a Fae #1) by Briar Boleyn Genre General Fiction ( Adult), Romance, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Romance “More primordial than the stars. My name was on his lips as he promised unspeakable darkness to any who came between us.” Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!! I’m a big fan of “touch her, and you die” vibes, but I mean, what’s also not to love about a unique Arthurian retelling with gender twists, a treacherous royal court, a dangerous quest, magical Fae & mystical monsters, entwined with a bit of spice! Morgan, Princess of Pendrath and true heir to the throne has spent most of her life dimming her light to feel safe and to make others comfortable. She is treated as an outcast in the court and repressed by her family due to the blood of the Fae within her and forced to join the Temple of the Three as a priestess in training to one day replace Merlin. Her brother, King Arthur, who reminds me of Joffrey from Game of Thrones, later tells her that he has other plans and offers her a choice of the Temple or to marry her off for political gain, unless… that is, she can journey through the great unknown and return with a long-lost fae weapon with enchanted powers known as Excalibur. Her quest begins with a roguish crew that includes the mysterious, arrogant, and heart-tuggingly handsome Captain of the Royal Guard, Kairos Draven, whom she can’t decide if she wants to stab or indulge in pleasure with. Along the way are plenty of surprises, mystical creatures, and betrayal, all while Morgan uncovers more of the truth about herself and who she can trust. This book had intriguing storylines and lovable characters that kept me turning pages and wanting more. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and comes together in book 2, Court of Claws, which I just started reading!! Read if you’re into- Dark Fantasy/Romance Slow–Burn Question Everything Magic and Action Fae Arthurian Legend Stabby/Broken FFC Morally Gray MMC Forced Proximity Queen of Roses is perfect for Holly Black, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sarah J. Maas fans. Please check the trigger warnings page in the table of contents before reading this book.

3.5 stars, A little boring to say the least.
Format: Kindle
Wow so I'm not sure where to begin on this one. This was a very different take on the legend of Arthur and Excalibur. This is told from the point of view of Morgan the sister of Arthur. Honestly the first 50% of this book is world building and character building which unfortunately was super boring for me. Morgan to me was a female MC that had a hard time in believing in herself. Sometimes taking too long to understand exactly what was going on around her. Draven was also a different male MC, like I couldn't put my finger on him and what he was all about. It was not until the last 10% of the book did we get some answers on the mystery that is Draven. The other 50% of the book centered around this big journey with everyone having a different motive. We see a spark of magic around this time that had me excited but then we never expanded upon that and what it could mean for the female MC. I feel like I want to read the second book just to see where this goes, but the spice was probably a 2 out of 5. Side characters are ok, Lancelet was fun but I almost felt like I wanted more.

A bewitching retelling of Arthurian legend!
Format: Kindle
In a land where the Fae have nearly become only a legend and those who still posses even a morsel of the blood are few and far between, Morgan finds herself cast aside by most of society due to her rumored half-Fae lineage, including her brother, King Arthur. With the kingdom at the brink of war, Arthur entrusts her with a quest to retrieve a Fae weapon of legendary power: the sword of Perun, Excalibur. Accompanied by men she loathes, Captain Kairos Draven and Ragnar Whitehorn, she embarks on her long and unbeknownst perilous journey, only to find that things she once believed to be myth are in fact very real. With devastating twists, omitted truths, witty banter and fierce action, Queen of Roses leaves you begging to know more about the secrets of Aercanum! Wow, wow, wow! Going into this story, I did not realize that it was going to be a retelling of Arthurian legend, especially not one with a fantastical twist! The unique spin almost gave me The Witcher vibes and I think adding Fae into the mix was quite interesting. I knew the basics of the legend but after reading this book, it has piqued my interest and makes me want to learn more about it. My attention was snatched as soon as I finished the prologue and I knew that I was going to devour this story. I truly enjoyed the gender swaps and even how Arthur was portrayed as villainous. Morgan’s past and even her parts of her present is absolutely heartbreaking, and I felt for her at times. I can only recall one other book that made me hate characters the way I despised Florian and Arthur, leaving me with my blood boiling and feeling disgusted. Even after finishing the book, Draven is still a mystery to me and I cannot figure out how to feel about him. I guess they just means that the author did an excellent job at conveying each character’s persona! The rich world building and imagery made it easy for me to visualize the places that the group visited along their journey. I am truly engulfed in this story and I cannot wait to see wait fate awaits Morgan and how the Fae will be even more incorporated in the next book!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
