DALI KUPID Bookshelf Speaker at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The KUPID is a compact 2-way bookshelf speaker from DALI (Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries, Aalborg, Denmark), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Designed as DALI's new entry point into genuine Hi-Fi sound, the KUPID distils over 40 years of DALI sound design engineering into an ultra-compact, lifestyle-friendly form. It features a 4.5-inch paper and wood fibre cone woofer, a 26 mm soft dome tweeter, and a dual-flare bass reflex port tuned to 53 Hz — all paired with a custom-designed crossover at 2,100 Hz. Available in five distinctive finishes including Golden Yellow and Chilly Blue, the KUPID covers a frequency range of 63 Hz to 25,000 Hz and delivers a maximum SPL of 103 dB, making it one of the most sonically capable compact speakers at its price point.

DALI Sound Design Principles in a Compact Form

The KUPID is the product of the same in-house engineering philosophy that drives DALI's flagship EPIKORE and RUBIKORE series. The 4.5-inch bass/midrange driver uses the wood fibre and paper pulp cone construction that DALI has refined across four decades of loudspeaker design — a material chosen for its low resonance, natural damping, and midrange transparency. The custom-designed crossover network is tuned to preserve tonal coherence between the woofer and tweeter, ensuring that the handoff at 2,100 Hz remains invisible to the listener. The result is a speaker that shares a genuine sonic DNA with DALI's premium lineup, packaged into a cabinet measuring just 237 x 140 x 195 mm.

Dual-Flare Bass Reflex Port and Placement Flexibility

Despite its compact dimensions, the KUPID reaches down to 53 Hz via a rear-firing dual-flare bass reflex port. The dual-flare geometry reduces port turbulence at both the entry and exit points, allowing the KUPID to deliver controlled, dynamic low-frequency output at volume levels that would cause conventional compact speaker ports to chuff audibly. The rear port is engineered to function from as little as 2.5 cm from the rear wall, giving the KUPID an unusually flexible placement footprint for a ported speaker. An included wall bracket extends that flexibility further, supporting stand, shelf, and on-wall mounting configurations.

Key Features

  • 4.5-Inch Wood Fibre Cone Woofer: DALI's signature paper and wood fibre cone construction minimises break-up resonance and delivers a warm, detailed midrange with natural-sounding, dynamic bass performance well beyond what the cabinet size suggests.
  • 26 mm Soft Dome Tweeter: The ultra-light soft woven fabric dome sits behind a waveguide baffle that optimises horizontal dispersion, delivering smooth, fatigue-free high-frequency extension to 25,000 Hz.
  • Dual-Flare Bass Reflex Port: Tuned to 53 Hz with aerodynamically shaped entry and exit flares, the rear port reinforces low-frequency output while minimising turbulence noise at all listening levels.
  • Custom-Designed Crossover Network: A bespoke 2-way crossover calibrated at 2,100 Hz maintains tonal balance and seamless driver integration across the full frequency range.
  • Five Distinctive Finish Options: Available in Black Ash, Walnut, Caramel White, Golden Yellow, and Chilly Blue, with colour-matched woofer cones for a cohesive, design-forward aesthetic.
  • Versatile Mounting and Placement: Compatible with stand, shelf, furniture, and wall-mount configurations; wall bracket and magnetic grilles are included in the box.
  • Colour-Matched Magnetic Grilles: Magnetically attached grilles leave no visible fixing holes on the front baffle, preserving a clean aesthetic whether grilles are on or off.
  • Five-Year Warranty: Backed by DALI's standard five-year manufacturer warranty, reflecting the brand's confidence in long-term build reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the DALI KUPID?

The DALI KUPID is a 2-way compact bookshelf speaker designed and engineered in Denmark by DALI (Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries). It features a 4.5-inch wood fibre cone woofer, a 26 mm soft dome tweeter, and a dual-flare bass reflex port tuned to 53 Hz, covering 63 Hz to 25,000 Hz. Launched in October 2025 as DALI's new affordable entry point into genuine Hi-Fi sound, the KUPID is sold as a stereo pair and is available in five finish options including Caramel White, Chilly Blue, and Golden Yellow.

How does the DALI KUPID compare to the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 and KEF Q150?

The DALI KUPID competes directly with the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 and KEF Q150 in the compact bookshelf category, and was named a What Hi-Fi? 2025 Award winner — the same recognition the Diamond 12.1 has held for multiple years. The KUPID is notably more compact than both the Diamond 12.1 and Q150, making it better suited to smaller spaces and desktop use. Its wood fibre cone delivers a warmer, less analytical midrange character compared to the KEF Q150's Uni-Q coaxial driver, while its five available finishes — including bold colour options — give it a lifestyle appeal that neither rival can match. The Diamond 12.1 offers a more traditional build quality and slightly richer bass due to its larger cabinet, but the KUPID's placement flexibility and DALI's established sonic pedigree make it a genuinely compelling alternative.

Can the DALI KUPID be mounted on a wall?

Yes, the DALI KUPID is fully compatible with wall-mount installation and includes a wall bracket in the box. The rear-firing bass reflex port is engineered to function from as little as 2.5 cm from a wall surface, making close-to-wall and on-wall placement practical without significant bass coloration. This also makes the KUPID a viable choice as a surround or height speaker in a compact home theatre configuration, in addition to its primary role as a 2-channel bookshelf speaker.

What is DALI's wood fibre cone technology?

DALI's wood fibre cone is a driver diaphragm material made from a mixture of paper pulp and wood fibre — a construction approach the company has refined over four decades of loudspeaker design. The random fibrous structure of the material provides natural, non-resonant damping that suppresses cone break-up modes, which are a common source of midrange coloration in conventional paper cone drivers. The result is a woofer that tracks the amplifier signal with greater accuracy, delivering a cleaner, more detailed midrange alongside dynamic, coherent bass without added coloration.

What amplifier does the DALI KUPID pair well with?

The DALI KUPID is rated for amplifiers delivering 40 to 120 watts into its 4-ohm nominal load, and while its 83 dB sensitivity is modest, real-world listening confirms the speaker responds well to a wide range of integrated amplifiers and streaming amplifiers. Compact streaming amplifiers such as the WiiM Amp Ultra and Eversolo Play pair naturally with the KUPID's size and use case. At higher budgets, integrated amplifiers like the Arcam A5, Rotel A8, and NAD C 316BEE V2 provide the current delivery needed to fully resolve the KUPID's dynamic range and low-distortion bass reflex system.

Where can I buy the DALI KUPID in Toronto or Canada?

The DALI KUPID is available at Vinyl Sound, an authorised DALI dealer in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound carries the full current DALI lineup and can advise on system matching, placement, and amplifier pairing for the KUPID. Canadian customers can shop in-store or reach Vinyl Sound directly for availability and shipping across Canada.

Is the DALI KUPID suitable as a desktop speaker?

Yes, the DALI KUPID is well suited to near-field and desktop listening environments. Its compact footprint — 237 x 140 x 195 mm — fits comfortably on a desk alongside a monitor, and its rear port placement flexibility of 2.5 to 60 cm from the wall allows it to work close to a desk surface without bass buildup. Multiple reviews have specifically noted the KUPID's clean, articulate midrange and fatigue-free treble as strengths in nearfield desktop use, where listener proximity places greater demands on driver resolution and imaging precision.

How many finish options does the DALI KUPID come in?

The DALI KUPID is available in five finishes: Black Ash, Walnut, Caramel White, Golden Yellow, and Chilly Blue. Each finish features a colour-matched woofer cone for a cohesive, design-forward appearance. The bold colour options — Golden Yellow and Chilly Blue in particular — reflect DALI's intention to appeal to a younger, design-conscious audience, while Black Ash, Walnut, and Caramel White offer more traditional alternatives that integrate with classic home interiors.

pretty good
Size: 24 inch 100Hz
Philips' 24-inch Frameless Full HD Monitor has the same type of attraction that the sleek lines and frameless edge provide as the utility that the product provides in terms of work and entertainment. Frameless edge helps provide the fashionable and streamlined appearance, while the 23.8-inch display provides the Full HD (1920x1080) resolution that creates the crisp images that are ideal for daily usage. Establishment and Link: Installation of the monitor is usually simple and easy, and the process is not difficult to complete and comprehend by the user. It includes one HDMI and one VGA socket in order to support most equipment. It lacks internal speakers, yet external speakers or headphones must be utilized if one desires sound output from the monitor. Performance It has the feature of supporting up to 100Hz display refreshes for smoother graphics when doing regular computing tasks. While good enough for general applications, there were comments that said that accurate color calibration to function is problematic and that this is one area that needs investigating if you're doing high accuracy color precision tasks. These include: A. Design Aside from the frameless feature, the monitor also impresses by being light in weight and having a sturdy base. The stand itself is also adjustable so the user has the opportunity to tilt to the convenience. VESA mounting support is also included on the monitor for the convenience of the user who would want varied mounting options. Reddit Conclusion Philips 24-inch Frameless Full HD Monitor offers the perfect form and function blend at the unbeatable price. Easy installation, two ports for connection, and the slim profile make it perfect for those consumers who require a no-frills monitor for general computing use. Purchasers will have to balance the fact that there are no speakers built-in and potential differences in the accuracy of the color calibration to decide if the display is perfect for their specific requirements.

WOW! This printer has been VERY impressive thus far *UPDATE*
Color: Black, Style: ET-2800-B, Pattern Name: Printer
My old printer broke (sooner than I would have liked) so I did A LOT of research before deciding to buy this Epson EcoTank printer for home office use. This is my honest review of it this far and I will definitely update my review if I run into any issues. So far, this printer has been pretty impressive (I've been using it for about a month). The price was pretty average for a printer... but I personally think all printers are overpriced so it was a bit more than I would have liked to spend. It is smaller and more lightweight than I was expecting which is a plus because it takes up less desk space than my previous HP printer. It is very easy to set up, comes with step-by-step easy instructions and guided instructions through the app. It only took me about 10 minutes (Mostly just waiting for the printer to initialize on its own). It is very easy and surprisingly satisfying to fill the ink tank. I like the idea that this ink might last longer than traditional cartridges and won't have as much plastic waste that went along with my old HP Inkjet. I have printed plain black and white documents as well as photos. I print all my photos at home, which is most of the printing that I do, so quality was important to me. The photos came out with pretty good quality! No ink smudges or off colors, colors are bright/vivid, and it is easy to modify what paper you're using with automatic prompts on the printer. Now for the negatives and the reason I'm giving this 4 stars... app to printer connection issues. This was a big issue with my old printer as well. I'm pretty tech savvy and I just have no idea why this is still always an issue for me. There is an extra Epson app that you are supposed to download for printing. Sometimes it can find my printer, sometimes it can't. Sometimes it gives me printer errors or won't let me print documents. And now every time I go to print something it says the paper being used doesn't match the paper settings so I have to bypass that error message (even though it does match in settings and the app, and this happens for both regular paper and photo paper). I've turned everything off and back on again, but the issues with consistent connection and error messages are still an issue. Usually with some fiddling around, I can get the documents/pictures to print but sometimes it feels like I'm jumping through unnecessary hoops. I'm still working out the kinks so if I find some magic solution I'll update my review. Considering this is an issue with most home printers I've used, it's not a deal breaker. All in all, if you are looking for a new home printer, I would definitely recommend this one. The quality has been great for me and I am pleased with my purchase (so far). Hope this helps! *UPDATE*: I have now printed HUNDREDS of photos, they are all excellent quality, and my ink tanks are still mostly full. This is WAY better than my HP printer as far as ink longevity. Changing my review to 5 stars just based on how long this ink lasts. User interface is still a tad annoying but so worth it regardless.

Quality Printer
Color: Black, Style: ET-2800-B, Pattern Name: Printer
Wonderful multi purpose printer. I bought this months ago and finally got it set up. Set up was easy. Love that the printer is so light weight and fairly compact that I can move it wherever if needed. The supply of ink that came with it was awesome. The ink goes a long way. I have printed out a lot of photos on this printer and the quality has been very good. I have not encountered any paper jams. The photo printing has not been smudged nor has the color been uneven. From documents to photos this little printer does it all and does it very well. When my work printer dies I will be replacing it w another Epson Eco Tank for sure.
